Sa! However, it is established by designating the person. For the time being, if it is the case that in the aggregates, the person is designated only on those aggregates, because the person is not specified. However, in the case of a person, how can this be designated by taking the aggregates as the cause? Because only the person becomes its cause. However, if the aggregates exist, then the person is specified. Therefore, if it is thought that this is designated by taking the aggregates as the cause, then if form is also specified, and attention and appearances arise, then it should be said that the designation is made by taking those as the cause. For the time being, this should also be said: Among the six consciousnesses, by which consciousness is the person known? It should also be said that all six consciousnesses can know. If asked how it is known? If, relying on the forms that are known by the eye, the person is specified, then it should be said that the person is known by the eye, and it should not be said that it is form, nor should it be said that it is not form. Similarly, relying on the dharmas that are known by the mind, if the person is specified, then it should be said that the person is known by the mind, and it should not be said that it is dharma, nor should it be said that it is not dharma. If that is the case, then it becomes like milk and so on. If, relying on the forms that are known by the eye, milk or water is specified, then it should be said that milk or water is known by the eye, and it should not be said that it is form, nor should it be said that it is not form. Similarly, if it is said that what is known by the nose, tongue, and body is not like that, it should not be said that it is touch, nor should it be said that it is not touch, because milk and water would become four. Therefore, just as milk or water is designated only on the general characteristics of form and so on, it is established that the person is designated on the aggregates. Whatever relies on the forms that are known by the eye

So, what is the meaning of the statement "to identify a person"? Are forms etc. a cause for identifying a person? Or is it that identifying forms etc. is identifying a person? If it is said that forms etc. are the cause for identifying a person, and also that it cannot be said to be different from these, then, in that case, forms also cannot be said to be different from appearances, the eye, and attention, because they are the cause for identifying it. Or, if identifying forms etc. is identifying a person, then is it identified only through that which is identified? Or through something else? If it is said that it is only through that, then the person is not different in nature from forms, or it is only established as forms, then, this is forms, this is a person, how can this distinction be completely cut off? If it cannot be completely cut off in that way, then forms also exist, and the person also exists, how can this be asserted? It is merely asserted that it exists by the power of identification. Similarly, this should also be said for the intervals between dharmas. Or if it is through something else, because the time of identification is different, it will be different from forms, like blue and yellow, and like one instant and another instant. Similarly, this should also be said for the intervals between dharmas. Or if, like forms and a person, those identified things also should not be said to be other and not other, then, in that case, the unconditioned also cannot be spoken of, thus the tenets are lost. If it is also said that this exists, and also that one should not say "it is forms", and also that one should not say "it is not forms", then why did the Blessed One say "form is not self" up to "consciousness is not self"? What does eye consciousness rely on to identify this person? Does it arise relying on forms etc.? Or relying on a person? Or does it arise relying on both? If it is said that it arises relying on forms etc., then like sounds etc., one cannot fully understand the person, because whatever consciousness arises relying on a certain object, that object is its objective condition. Or does it rely on a person, or does it arise relying on both? This contradicts the sutras.
