Therefore, enter into equanimity. Similarly, the unconventional is also completely purified, and the uncontaminated are also surpassed one by one, entering into equanimity that conforms to the conventional and unconventional, which is the yoga of surpassing equanimity. When one enters into the third dhyana of the uncontaminated from the first of the contaminated, then enters into the sphere of infinite space of the contaminated, then enters into the sphere of nothingness of the uncontaminated, and similarly enters into the unconventional equanimity, then in order to enter into the third different thing, it can be directly accomplished. Because it is very far away, one does not enter into the fourth dhyana. Moreover, only the Arhat who is liberated without being in harmony with the times in the three continents can generate it, because there is no affliction and because he has mastery over samadhi. The one who obtains by seeing, if he has mastery over samadhi because of his sharp faculties, but is not without affliction. The one who is liberated by time, if he is without affliction, but does not have mastery over samadhi. With what support, how many dhyanas and formless states can be manifested? Dhyana and formless states themselves and the support of the lower grounds are also manifested at the peak of existence, and also manifested between the lower desire realm. Similarly, the remaining ones also manifest themselves and the lower grounds. Why does one who is born above enter into equanimity and not manifest the lower ones? In this way, because he does not need the lower ones. For him, entering into equanimity does not need the lower things at all, because they are inferior. After making a general explanation, a specific instruction is given: the noble one at the peak of existence has nothing, after manifesting it, the outflows are exhausted. The noble one born at the peak of existence, after manifesting the sphere of nothingness of the uncontaminated, becomes an outflow exhauster. If so, how does one born there manifest it? Because of the absence of oneself, and because it is also close. Again, what is the object of these dhyanas and formless states? The one with attachment focuses on his own existence.

Those associated with equanimity are focused on their own realm of existence. Speaking of existence refers to grasping objects with outflows. Because of being free from desire, they do not focus on the lower realms either. Since the realms are completely separated by existence, they are not the higher realms either. Because it would become merely virtuous, it is not without outflows either. The virtue of meditative concentration has nine objects. The object of pure virtuous meditative concentration and meditative concentration without outflows is anything at all, whether conditioned or unconditioned. The sphere of activity of the actual virtuous form realm is not the lower realm with outflows. The object of the actual virtuous formless realm is not the lower realm's objects with outflows, because it focuses on its own realm and the higher realms. The object without outflows is everything that accords with the aspect of subsequent knowledge, but it does not accord with the aspect of knowledge of the Dharma, nor is it the cessation of the lower realm. The object of the paths of immediate proximity without interruption is the lower realm. Among these three types of meditative concentration and formlessness, the outflows are abandoned by the one without outflows. If even the pure one cannot abandon them, then what need is there to mention the one with afflictions? Because of being free from desire, it is not the lower realm either, and because it itself is not its antidote, it is not in its own realm either. Because it is most excellent, it is not the higher realm either. Even the pure immediate proximity can abandon. The immediate proximity of the form and formless realms, the pure one can also abandon afflictions, because it is the antidote to the lower realm. How many immediate proximities are there? For them, there are eight immediate proximities. Each one has its own way of entering into it. What? Are they also of three types, and do they have feelings similar to them? It is said: No. Pure, neither pleasant nor painful. They are also pure, and they are also associated with the faculty of equanimity, because they are to be straightened with effort, and because they have not departed from aversion to the lower realm, and because they are the path of freedom from desire, so they are not associated with pleasant feeling. Even the first noble one. The first of the immediate proximities is
