Because it causes to enter transcendence, it is not possible to transcend from the third dhyana onwards. In the sequel of subsequent knowledge, entering the formless samadhi, it is not in the sequel of Dharma-knowledge, because its support and object are lower. As it is said in the sequel of the uncontaminated, it is also the same from purity. It should be understood. One's own ground's afflictions are also, in the sequel of the pure, even more so the afflicted of one's own ground arise. The rest is as it is said from the uncontaminated. In the sequel of the uncontaminated, no afflicted one arises. From the afflicted one arises self-purification, and in the sequel of the basis of the afflicted one's samadhi, the pure and afflicted ones of one's own ground arise. The lower pure one, tormented by afflictions, will also like the pure one of the lower samadhi. If the afflicted one is completely cut off and reborn in the lower realm, it is transferred from good karma, not from the afflicted one. If it is not completely cut off, then how does it transfer? Because it has already been reborn before. Previously, one would think: the lower pure one is not the upper afflicted one, one would think so. The previous thought also follows the continuum of beings, just like waking up when one wants to fall asleep. The uncontaminated does not arise in any way in the sequel of the afflicted. Because the time of samadhi is the pure one, in the sequel of the afflicted, only the afflicted of one's own ground arise, not of other grounds, it is said like this. In death transference etc., all afflictions, at the time of death transference, in the sequel of the pure one obtained by birth, the afflicted of all grounds arise. From the afflicted one, it is not the upper one. At the time of death transference, in the sequel of the afflicted one's dhyana and formless samadhi, the afflicted of one's own ground and lower ground arise, not the upper ground. From all the pure ones, the basis of the uncontaminated samadhi does not arise either. So what is it like? Pure decline division etc., four kinds. The pure one is in accordance with the decline division, and in accordance with the abiding division.

The aspect of decline, the aspect of distinction, the aspect of discernment, are the four aspects. The peak of existence is threefold, except for the aspect of distinction. What is its nature? It is, in order: Affliction arising and one's own ground, Higher ground and the subsequent conformity with the uncontaminated. The aspect of decline conforms to the arising of afflictions. The aspect of abiding conforms to one's own ground. The aspect of distinction conforms to the higher ground. The aspect of discernment conforms to the uncontaminated, the uncontaminated arises from it. Furthermore, among these four, after which does which arise? After the aspect of decline, etc., two, three, three, and one. The aspect of decline is decline and dependence. After that, two arise, the aspect of decline and the aspect of abiding. After the aspect of abiding, there are three, except for the aspect of discernment. After the aspect of distinction, there are three, except for the aspect of decline. After the aspect of discernment, there is one, that one alone arises. How does the samadhi of transcendence arise? The eight grounds are related in two ways, One transcends, goes, and then comes back, In the third of the dissimilar realms, there is an interruption, This is the samadhi of transcendence. The so-called eight grounds are the dhyanas and the formless samadhis. The so-called two ways are with outflows and without outflows. The so-called related is in order. The so-called one transcends is each one transcends. The so-called gone is entering samadhi according to the proper order. The so-called come back is entering samadhi not according to the proper order. Having purified through the gate of samadhi, both according to and not according to the proper order, the eight grounds with outflows and the seven grounds without outflows, then later, from the first dhyana with outflows to the third dhyana with outflows, entering samadhi, and then to the sphere of infinite space, and then to the sphere of nothingness.
