Both those with craving and those without craving, from the perspective of death, only those with craving seem to arise, while those without craving do not. Because without craving, there is no arising, therefore, to manifest craving, it should be known that craving is the cause. It is also because of the inclination of the continuum. Because in whom there is craving, the continuum of mind is seen to incline again and again to that. Therefore, it should also be known that craving is similar to that. Just as craving causes the body to be held by the dried paste of clay and a small amount of bean flour, in that way, nothing else can completely hold the body. Other causes are not related to me in the same way as attachment to self. This is reasonable. The Blessed One also spoke of the four truths, and also spoke of the two truths, conventional truth and ultimate truth. What are the characteristics of these two? If something is broken down or other things are eliminated by wisdom, and wisdom does not enter into it, like a vase or water, it exists conventionally, but ultimate existence is different. If something is broken down into parts and wisdom does not enter into it, then it exists conventionally, like a vase. If it is broken down into shards, the concept of a vase will not enter. If other things are eliminated by wisdom and wisdom does not enter into it, then it should be understood that it exists conventionally, like water. If form and other things are eliminated by wisdom, the concept of water will not enter. Only these are given conventional names, so speaking of the existence of a vase and water from a conventional point of view is only speaking the truth, not a lie, so this is conventional truth. Other than that is ultimate truth. No matter how something is broken down, wisdom will enter into it, and if other things are eliminated by wisdom, wisdom will also enter into it, then it exists ultimately, like form. Even if it is broken down into atoms, or if taste and other things are eliminated by wisdom, the wisdom of the nature of form will still enter. Feeling and so on should also be viewed in the same way. Because it exists ultimately, it is called ultimate truth. Former teachers said, like transcendental wisdom.
