And to regard the qualities of desire and birth as happiness. Regarding the feeling of happiness, if there is also suffering in terms of categories, then regarding it as entirely happiness is a reversal. Regarding the qualities of desire, if happiness is small and suffering is great, then regarding it as entirely happiness is a reversal, and it is the same for birth. Therefore, it is impossible to not have the feeling of happiness. If all feelings are painful in their own nature, then what is the use of saying that there are three feelings? If it is said that it is said in accordance with the world, that is not the case, because the Buddha said that all feelings are painful, and I said this after thinking about it. Also, because it is said "as it is," one should observe what is the root of happiness and what is the root of mental happiness, these are all feelings of happiness. In detail, whoever sees these five faculties as they are with true wisdom, and has abandoned the three attachments to it, and so on. How can the world also divide the feeling of suffering into three types? If it is said that for small, large, and medium, thoughts of happiness and so on arise in order, then happiness also has three types, so for small suffering and so on, thoughts of great happiness and so on will arise. When the happiness arising from the difference of smell, taste, and touch disappears, for whom will this become a thought of happiness, and what was once small suffering? When small suffering does not arise and ceases, because of being free from all suffering, a very great thought of happiness will arise, and the same should be said for manifest happiness of desire. For small feelings, it is considered that the experience is very clear and occupies a large proportion, and for medium feelings, it is considered unclear, how is this? It is said in the sutras that there is happiness in the third dhyana, so it will also become small suffering, and it is also said in the sutras that there is neither happiness nor suffering, so it will also become medium suffering.
