Therefore, the mind of the formless realm is the higher ground, therefore, the enumeration of minds and the knowledge of previous abodes do not grasp. How are these obtained? By the practice of the unmixed. What is to be obtained, the mixed is obtained by detachment from desire. Supernormal knowledge accustomed in other lives is obtained by detachment from desire. Those with distinctions are by practice. All are generated by cultivation. The third is the three mindfulnesses. The supernormal knowledge of the enumeration of minds, because it takes mind and mental factors as its object, is the nature of the three: feeling, mind, dharma, and mindfulness. The first, miraculous ear and eye. Connected to the supernormal knowledge called miraculous power and divine ear and divine eye. The supernormal knowledge of miraculous powers and divine ears and divine eyes, because it takes form as its object, is the first mindfulness, which is the synonym for body mindfulness. The object of miraculous power is the four external sense bases, except for sound. The object of the supernormal knowledge of divine ears and eyes is the sense bases of sound and form. How is this? Knowing death and rebirth, knowing that these sentient beings possess the faults of the body, and so on. That is not known by it, but for the noble ones, by what other than it can such knowledge arise? The wisdom that has become the wheel of supernormal knowledge arises. The remainder, because the object is not distinguished, is established as the nature of all four mindfulnesses. The supernormal knowledge of the eye and ear is: unstated, the rest are virtuous. The supernormal knowledge of the divine eye and ear is unstated. Those are also the wisdom that is similar to the consciousness of the eye and ear. So how are those established as the ground of the four meditations? Because of the basis, it is shown that its ground, its basis, the eye and ear, is the ground of the four meditations. Or because of the path of no interruption. The other four are virtuous. So, from the differentiation, what is supernormal knowledge? What is said that knowledge is virtuous, what is it like? That is showing the main or most part.

Yes. Among these superknowledges, three are wisdom. Knowing past lives, knowing death and birth, and knowing the exhaustion of defilements, these are called the three wisdoms of the non-learner. Why are only these, and not others? The former limit, etc., is to dispel ignorance. These successively dispel the universal ignorance of the former limit, the latter limit, and the middle. Among these, ultimately, the last of the non-learner, only knowing the exhaustion of defilements is the wisdom of the non-learner. Two are its, called "its" because they arise from the continuum. The other two arise from the continuum of the non-learner, and are called "non-learner," but these two are neither learners nor non-learners. Is it not considered that these superknowledges are those of learners? Why are they not called the wisdoms of learners? It is accepted for learners, but because the continuum is connected with ignorance, it is not said to be wisdom. The continuum is connected with ignorance, therefore it cannot be established as wisdom, and also because it is suppressed by ignorance. Among these superknowledges, the first, third, and sixth are, miracles, are magical powers, the varieties of mind, and the superknowledge of knowing the exhaustion of defilements, these are successively the three miracles, namely magical powers, revelation, and the miracle of instruction. Because it can greatly attract the minds of those to be tamed at the very beginning, therefore it is a miracle. Or, these can attract the minds of those who are dissatisfied and those who are in an intermediate state, therefore they are miracles. Among these, instruction is the most excellent. The miracle of instruction, because it is not deceptive and is beneficial, and can lead to a pleasing result, is the most excellent. Magical powers and revelation can also be achieved through mantras. For example, through the mantra called "Ghana Dhari" (གྷན་དྷ་རི་,घन धारि,ghana dhāri,Holder of Clouds), one can walk in the sky; through the mantra called "Tarkaka" (རྟོག་བྱེད,तर्कक,tarkaka,Thinker), one can know the minds of others. Although there are these, to give instruction truthfully is something that others cannot do, therefore it is not deceptive, so this is the main one. Those two are merely pioneering, while the miracle of instruction
