Monks, if there is a thought of "I am," the thought of "I am like this" will arise. Thoughts like "I am like this," "I am not like that," "I am good," and "I am bad" will arise. Regarding this, the thought of "it should happen like this" will arise, as well as the thought of "it should not happen like this," "it should happen like this," "it should happen like that," and "it should not happen like that." Regarding this, the thought of "may it become like this" will arise, as well as the thoughts of "may it become like this," "may it become like that," "may it not become like that," "what does it matter if it becomes like this," "what does it matter if it becomes like this," "what does it matter if it becomes like that," and "what does it matter if it does not become like that," as it is said. Because there is no entering, it is cessation. Because there is no suffering, it is peace. Monks, in this way, all conditioned things are suffering. Nirvana is peace, as it is said. Because there is nothing higher, it is excellent. Also, because there is no turning back, it is definite emergence. Because it is like a path, it is the path. Because it is entered as it is, it is reason. Because it is individually determined, it is accomplishment, as it is said, "In order to purify the view, this is the path, there is no other," like this it is said. Because it causes constant and definite emergence, it is definite deliverance. Alternatively, as antidotes to the wrong views of permanence, pleasure, self, and selfhood, respectively, are the aspects of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. As antidotes to the wrong views of having no cause, having only one cause, change, abandoning the mind beforehand, and wrong views, respectively, are the aspects of cause, arising, birth, and condition. As an antidote to the wrong view of thinking there is no liberation, it is the aspect of cessation. As an antidote to the wrong view of thinking suffering is liberation, it is the aspect of peace. As an antidote to the wrong view of thinking the bliss of meditation is excellent.

These are the antidotes. Furthermore, for those practitioners who think that liberation obtained through repeated experience is not ultimate, the aspect of definite liberation appears. For those practitioners who think there is no path, think this is the path, think others are also paths, and think there is still something left in this path, the aspects of path, reason, practice, and liberation appear in order. What is this dharma called "aspect"? Aspect is wisdom. If so, then since wisdom is different from others, wisdom will not have aspects. Therefore, the aspect is the distinction held by the objects of all minds and mental events, which is reasonable. Then, is it only wisdom that holds? The answer is no. Then, what is it like? It is that which is related to it, and related to the object, that holds. Wisdom and all other dharmas related to the object also hold. All that exists is to be grasped. Whatever exists, all is to be grasped. In this way, wisdom is both the aspect, the holder, and the grasped. Others related to the object are the holder and the grasped. Those without objects are only the grasped. From here on, the differences of the merits and so on of these ten wisdoms will be shown. First, the first three are three types, and the others are all virtuous. Conventional wisdom is the first line of the verse, because it exists, it is the first, and it is of three types: virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral. The other nine wisdoms are only virtuous. The first exists everywhere, from the desire realm to the peak of existence. The sixth is the Dharma wisdom. Dharma wisdom exists in the four meditations, the unobstructed, and the excellent meditations. The ninth is the subsequent wisdom. Subsequent wisdom exists in those same six grounds and the three formless realms. Similarly, the wisdoms of suffering, origin, cessation, path, exhaustion, and non-arising also exist in those same nine grounds without distinction.

Oḍḍo. The divisions are: those included by Dharma-knowledge are in the six grounds. Those included by subsequent knowledge are in the nine grounds. Other mind-knowledge is the four dhyānas. Other-minds-knowledge is only in the four dhyānas, not elsewhere. There, it has desire and form as support. That other-minds-knowledge manifests in the desire and form realms. What is called Dharma-knowledge has desire as support. Dharma-knowledge is only supported by the desire realm, and does not manifest in the form and formless realms. Others are supported by the three realms. What are the others? Other than other-minds-knowledge and Dharma-knowledge. The grounds and supports have been explained. What is included by the four mindfulnesses should be spoken of, therefore it is said: Cessation-wisdom is mindfulness, one is wisdom and prajñā, what is called knowledge is a synonym. Cessation-knowledge is one, it is Dharma-mindfulness. Other-minds-wisdom is three. Other-minds-knowledge is three: feeling, mind, and Dharma-mindfulness. The remainder are four. The knowledge other than cessation and other-minds-knowledge are all four mindfulnesses. By which knowledge, what is the object of knowledge? The domain of Dharma-wisdom is nine. The object of Dharma-knowledge is nine knowledges, except for subsequent knowledge. Path-subsequent wisdom is also nine. The object of subsequent knowledge is also nine knowledges, except for Dharma-knowledge. The object of Path-knowledge is also nine, except for conventional knowledge. The wisdom of suffering and cause is two. The objects of the knowledge of suffering and arising are two: conventional knowledge and other-minds-knowledge. The object of the four is ten. The objects of conventional knowledge and other-minds-knowledge, as well as exhaustion-knowledge and non-arising-knowledge, are all ten knowledges. One is not. The unique object of cessation-knowledge is not knowledge itself. The ten dharmas should be combined. What are the ten? The three realms and stainless dharma, unconditioned things are both two. For conditioned dharmas, it is desire and...
