It is only said that it is the antidote to the desire realm. Furthermore, what is the obstacle on the path of meditation, or the Dharma-knowledge on the path? It is the antidote to the three realms. Cessation and Dharma-knowledge on the path, which are included in the path of meditation, are the antidote to all three realms. It is not a subsequent to the desire realm. The subsequent knowledge of the antidote to the desire realm does not exist in any way. Among those ten knowledges, Dharma-knowledge and subsequent knowledge have sixteen aspects. These will be explained below. Conventional truth is, likewise, in other ways as well. The wisdom of conventional truth also has sixteen aspects and also has other aspects, because it holds the self-characteristics and general characteristics of all phenomena, and so on. By the aspects of their respective truths, there are four. Suffering and origin, cessation and path knowledge, because they enter into the aspects of their respective truths, each has four aspects. The stainless mind-knowledge of others is also, likewise, the stainless mind-knowledge of others is also the same, because it has its own truth aspect, so it has four aspects, because it is path knowledge. That which has defilements is, the self-characteristics of the knowable. The mind-knowledge of others that has defilements holds the self-characteristics of the knowable mind and mental factors, because it holds the self-characteristics. Both are, each object of experience. When the mind is held, the mental factors are not held, and when the feeling is held, the perception is not held, and so on. Then, what about what the Blessed One said, "For a mind with desire, one knows as it really is that it is a mind with desire," and so on? It is not that the two are held simultaneously, just as clothes and dirt cannot be held simultaneously. The so-called mind with desire, desire itself has two aspects, the mixed desire itself, and the corresponding desire itself. Among them, the mind that corresponds to desire, both are with desire. Other than that

That which has outflows is said to have desire because it possesses desire. Some say that in this sutra, the mind that is in accordance with desire is one that possesses desire, and the antidote to desire is said to be freedom from desire. If not being in accordance with desire means being free from desire, then being in accordance with other afflictions would also be the same, they say. Others say that if that were the case, then the mind that is not its antidote, not being afflicted, would be neither possessing desire nor being free from desire, and so on. Therefore, in this sutra, it should be considered that having desire is also a mind that possesses desire, and it should be understood similarly between having ignorance and being free from ignorance, they say. The Vaibhashikas say that gathering together is virtuous because it manifestly gathers towards the object. Distraction is afflicted because it is in accordance with distraction, they say. The Westerners say that gathering together is in accordance with sleep. Distraction is another affliction, they say. One should not say that, because being in accordance with afflicted sleep, that very mind is both gathered together and distracted. In the treatise it says: The mind gathered together is thoroughly known as it is. The knowledge of knowing it is fourfold, namely, knowledge of the Dharma, subsequent knowledge, conventional knowledge, and knowledge of the path, which would also be contradictory. A sinking mind is afflicted because it is in accordance with laziness. Upliftedness is virtuous because it is in accordance with diligence. Smallness is afflicted because it is relied upon by those who are small in purification. Becoming great is virtuous because it is the opposite of that. Also because of root, value, retinue, followers, and the magnitude of power, the afflicted is rooted in the two unwholesome roots. The virtuous is rooted in the three wholesome roots. The afflicted.

Because it is not to be accomplished by effort, affliction is small. Virtue is to be accomplished by a great assembly, so it is precious. An afflicted one, because of obtaining a future similar to this, does not have many retinues, but is accompanied by the following of the three skandhas. Virtue is a large retinue, but is accompanied by the following of the four skandhas. Moreover, the afflicted one is weak. Virtue is powerful. Even a single forbearance that knows the Dharma of suffering can completely destroy ten subtle increases, therefore, affliction is small, and virtue becomes great. Agitation is afflicted because it has similar characteristics to agitation. Non-agitation is virtue because it is its antidote. Non-pacification and pacification are also the same. Non-concentration is afflicted because it has similar characteristics to distraction. Concentration is virtue because it is its antidote. Non-meditation is afflicted because it is not meditated upon by the meditation of attainment and reliance. Meditation is virtue because it is meditated upon by those two. Non-liberation is afflicted because nature and continuum are not liberated and liberated, so it is afflicted. Liberation is virtue because it is liberated by those two, so it is said. If that is the case, then it is contrary to the sutras, and the difference in the meaning of those words is not explained. How is it said to be contrary to the sutras? In the sutras, how is the mind inwardly gathered? The mind is one with dullness and sleep, completely ceasing inwardly, and does not have the characteristics of insight. How is it outwardly distracted? The mind follows after the five objects of desire and is scattered. Can it also be said that the mind is both gathered and distracted? Although it is said that way, it is not a reasonable statement, because afflicted sleep and
