It should be understood that there are many divisions of the branch of craving for existence. The remaining branches will not be mentioned again. Why? Because there are other things to be told and explained. Here, some branches have already been told, and some will be told later. Among them, for the time being, let's talk about consciousness, which is each different consciousness, which is also the source of mind, which has already been told. The six sources are also the same, that is, those consciousnesses that rely on the eye and so on, and form and so on, have also been told. Action and existence will be explained from the place of the treasury of karma. Craving and grasping will be explained from the place of the treasury of afflictions. The previously mentioned dependent origination, if briefly summarized, is afflictions, karma, and basis. Here, afflictions are like seeds, like dragons, like grass, like trees, and also like bark. So, what is similar or consistent with the seeds and so on here? For example, from seeds, seedlings, leaves, etc. will grow, and similarly, from afflictions, afflictions, karma, and basis will also grow. For example, a lake where dragons live will not dry up, and similarly, the lake of birth where the disputes of afflictions live is also like that. For example, forests that have not been uprooted from the roots, even if cut down, will grow again, and similarly, beings who have not removed afflictions from the roots are also like that. For example, trees will bloom and bear fruit from time to time, and similarly, afflictions are also the cause of afflictions, karma, and basis many times. For example, abundant fruits with shells can grow, but not only that, similarly, karma that obtains the shell of afflictions can be reborn elsewhere, but not only that. Therefore, for the time being, it should be understood that afflictions are similar to seeds and so on. Karma is like a fruit with a shell, and also like medicine and flowers. Because there is a shell here, it is with a shell, and afflictions like a shell have already been told. Now we will talk about karma like a fruit with a shell. For example, grains and medicines, etc.
