Those are the ones that have become the fruit. The remaining five, because they are of the nature of karma and afflictions, are the ones that have become the cause. Also, Why are the five bases and the two afflictions separate? In the middle, the cause and effect are widely generated, and in the future, because the two are separate, the fruit is abbreviated. In the past, because the afflictions are shown from one door, is the cause abbreviated? The cause and effect of the two are abbreviated, and from the inference of the middle, it is not said that only through the middle can the cause and effect of all the previous and later limits be widely inferred, and no meaningless effort is made. If the twelve links of dependent origination are only those, then, because the cause of ignorance is not shown, it will also become a cycle with a beginning, and because the fruit of old age and death is not shown, it will also become finite, or it will be necessary to supplement with other links. If there is another one in that, it will become endless, if you ask like this, there is no need to supplement, like this, here the Blessed One said: Affliction arises from affliction, action itself arises from the base, from that the base and affliction arise, this is the order of the limbs of existence. This has already been shown. Affliction arises from affliction, that is, grasping arises from craving. Affliction arises from karma, that is, existence arises from grasping, and formations arise from ignorance. Karma arises from the base, that is, consciousness arises from formations, and birth arises from existence. The base arises from the base, that is, from consciousness to name and form, up to contact arising from feeling, and from birth to old age and death. The base arises from affliction, that is, love arises from feeling. Because the order of the limbs of existence is established in that way, it is also said that the nature of ignorance and affliction arises from the base or affliction, and it has been shown that old age and death also arise from the base that touches feeling, so there is no need to add anything to this, in that case, this great mass of suffering will be completely produced, because it is said like this. If it is not like that, what is the use of this? Others say, sutra
