It is said, "Go there." If someone asks: Is it certain that all intermediate beings necessarily enter the mother's womb in this way? The answer is: No. However, it is said in the sutras that there are four ways of entering the womb. What are the four? One is to enter knowingly. Abiding and emerging are not done knowingly. Another is to connect "abiding" with "knowingly," so that the word "also" includes entering as well. Another is that emerging is also done knowingly, and the word "also" includes entering and abiding. Another is complete ignorance. Some become completely without knowing, entering is not done knowingly, and abiding and emerging are also not done knowingly. These four ways of entering the womb are shown in reverse order to harmonize with the composition of the verses. Egg-born beings are always ignorant. Egg-born beings are always completely ignorant. If someone asks: How do egg-born beings enter the place of birth? The answer is: That which is about to be born is also called egg-born. Or it is indicated by the name of that which is about to emerge. For example, the sutra says, "Conditioned phenomena manifestly create," and in the world, it is said, "Cook rice," "Grind flour," and so on. Therefore, there is no fault in this. Again, how does one enter the mother's womb without knowing and remain there until birth? Or how does one enter knowingly? For a while, it is said that weak beings, when entering the mother's womb, think: There is a strong wind blowing, or it is raining, or it is cold, or the place is bad, or a large crowd of people is making noise. So, they enter a thicket of grass, or a dense forest, or a grass hut, or a leaf hut, or under a tree, or beside a wall. When abiding, they also think of abiding in these places. When emerging, they also think of emerging from these places. Distorted thoughts and desires arise. It is said that powerful beings enter monasteries, or gardens, or mansions, or multi-storied buildings, or ascend thrones. They abide in the same way. They also think of being born there. For a while, entering without knowing until birth is like that. Entering knowingly is entering the mother's womb. One abides right there.

From that itself it arises, and knowing it as it truly is, distorted thoughts and inclinations do not arise in relation to this. Furthermore, here the teachings and the entering into the womb are threefold, namely, the wheel-turning king and the self-born two. The wheel-turning king, the self-born solitary buddha, and the complete buddha, will be explained in order below. Among them, the wheel-turning king is the first, he only knows the entering into the womb, but not the abiding, nor the arising. The solitary buddha is also the abiding. The buddha is also the arising. Here also it is indicated by the name of what will arise. Karma or wisdom or both. Because of the vastness, there are four in order. Those who perform vast karma and vast merit are the first. Those with vast wisdom, who have heard much and are skilled in discernment, are the second. The karma of merit and vast wisdom are the third, and those who have become like that should be understood to be the wheel-turning king and so on in order. The rest are the fourth, and thus it is established. Now, if the outsiders vow that sentient beings will transfer to other worlds, and hold that the self is established, and argue in the name of the self, then in order to refute them, the term non-self is mentioned. What is like the self? If it is completely thought that abandoning these aggregates and connecting the continuum in other aggregates, such an inner agent does not exist, the Blessed One has said this: Karma exists, the ripening exists, except for conventional truth, there is no agent who can abandon these aggregates and connect the continuum in other aggregates. What is called conventional truth is like this, for example, because this exists, this arises, and thus the dependent arising is extensively explained. Then, what kind of self is not denied? Only the aggregates themselves. If only the aggregates are called self, then there is no denial of that. If that is the case, then will the aggregates themselves transfer to other worlds? If you say so, then these non-transferring are only the aggregates,
