If that is the case, how can the question in the Sutra of the Five Taken Sons be valid: 'Who is your attendant? Is he of the Kshatriya caste? Is he of the Brahmin caste? Is he of the Vaishya caste? Is he of the Shudra caste? Or did he come from the east? Or do you know if he came from the south, west, or north?' How can such a question be valid, since a destroyed aggregate cannot come again? If you say that this is also not asserted, then what about what was said before: 'The Blessed One said that there are five types of non-returners: those who attain complete nirvana in the intermediate state, those who attain complete nirvana after being born, those who attain complete nirvana without exertion, those who attain complete nirvana with exertion, and those who go upwards.' If there is no intermediate existence, how can there be complete nirvana in the intermediate state? Some say that there are gods called 'intermediate state.' If that is the case, then 'birth' and so on should also become gods. Therefore, this distinction is not good. It can also be established from the 'Going Sutra.' In the Sutra of the Seven Goings of Noble Persons, it is also explained that due to the differences in time and place, there are three types of complete nirvana in the intermediate state. For example, like a small ghee lamp that dies while still manifesting, that is the first type. For example, like a spark of iron rising into the sky and dying, that is the second type. For example, like a spark of iron rising into the sky and dying without falling to the ground, that is the third type. Since there is no god called 'intermediate state' with three different types due to differences in place and time, this is merely speculation. Others say that whoever abandons afflictions within the limit of their lifespan, or near the realm of the gods, that is complete nirvana in the intermediate state, which refers to the complete nirvana in the realm of desire, the realm of form, or the formless realm, therefore there are three types. Or, the first type is to completely take what is similar in the realm of form and attain nirvana. The second type is the...

Having experienced prosperity. The third is to enter into the Dharma of the gods. To be completely liberated from suffering after birth is to enter into the possession of the supreme Dharma and be completely liberated from suffering, or not just to be born, but to destroy most of life and be completely liberated from suffering, so it is said. All of these, because there is no difference in going elsewhere, examples such as grains are not appropriate. Because one is completely liberated from suffering within the limit of life, it is said that even in the formless realms, one is completely liberated from suffering without the intermediate state. The sets of ten for meditations are four, the sets of seven for the formless realms are three, and the sets of six for consciousness are six. After doing them, correctly combine them in the collection. This summary verse that was spoken does not appear either. Therefore, all of these are just speculations. If you say that, then they will not quote those sutras either. The teacher who has completely passed into nirvana, the guide of this teaching is no more. If many people still do as they please with words and meanings, what is to be done? Now what is there to do? For the time being, for those who consider this scripture to be reliable, from the scripture, the intermediate state is not established either. Then, how should we understand what is said in the sutra: 'Then, the subduer of Mara falls into the great hell of Avici with his own body'? The necessity here is that he was surrounded by the fires of hell while alive, and after death, he went to Avici through the intermediate state, that is what is meant. Those whose extremely intense karma is completely fulfilled do not remain in abandoning the body, therefore, the visible Dharma of this life

Who would not wish that the intermediate state is birth itself? Because this intermediate state is directed towards birth at the end of the state of death, therefore it is only from the intermediate state that one is born in hell, and it is not said that one is already born. Then, how should we interpret the verse that says, "Brahmin, old and frail, sick, goes to the presence of Yama. In between, you have no place to stay, and you have no provisions for the road"? The meaning here is, I think there is no place to stay among people. Or, in order to go to the place of birth, and because there is no obstacle to going, I think there is no place to stay even in the intermediate state. This is the meaning, this is not the meaning, from what is this inferred, this is the same for you. Therefore, in order not to contradict the scriptures spoken by both sides, this is not a source for the absence of the intermediate state. The meaning of "source" is, it is knowledge, not other knowledge. Again, if asked, what kind of form of the intermediate state will manifest and be accomplished for the being who is going to go somewhere? Because the pulling is the same. "The form of the previous life's existence, by whatever karma pulls beings, it is by that that they go there, therefore the intermediate state also pulls. Therefore, it is like the form of where the being is going to go, that is, where the previous existence will be born." If that is the case, then if the intermediate states of the five destinies manifest and are accomplished in one womb of a female dog, etc., then will the intermediate state of hell burn the mother's womb? For the time being, even in the previous existence, if the hell beings are wandering in other places, if they are not constantly burning, then what need is there to mention the intermediate state beings? Or even if they burn, because the body is very subtle, so it cannot be seen, and similarly it cannot be touched, so this should not become a dispute. The intermediate state beings also do not touch each other in the womb, and because they depend on karma, they will not burn. The size is like a five or six year old child. Moreover, the senses are also clear. Bodhisattva
