The form that follows is not a form that mutually acts as a cause. The equal cause is that all that arises earlier is the equal cause. The ripening cause is the ripening of body and speech actions, such as the eye, etc. Those of the elements are one. The form transformed from the elements is only the ripening cause for the elements, that is, the ripening of body and speech actions. Mind and mental events are said to be the immediately preceding condition without distinction. It is not clearly stated which mind arises after which mind, so now it will be explained. In short, there are twelve types of minds. How so? It is said, "Desire mind, virtuous and non-virtuous, obscured and unobscured." In the desire realm, there are four types of minds, namely virtuous mind, non-virtuous mind, obscured but unspecified mind, and unobscured but unspecified mind. In the form and formless realms, other than non-virtuous mind. There is no non-virtuous mind in the form realm, there are three. The formless realm is also the same. Thus, these ten minds are minds with outflows. There are two without outflows, namely learners and non-learners. Thus, these are the twelve minds. Regarding this, "From the pure desire mind, nine minds arise," which will be explained below. After the virtuous mind in the desire realm, nine minds will arise, namely the four minds of one's own ground, learners and non-learners, and the two conducts of the form realm, namely virtuous mind during meditative absorption and obscured but unspecified mind during rebirth. In the formless realm, the conduct is only obscured but unspecified mind during rebirth, because it is extremely long, so it is not virtuous mind. The conducts in the formless realm are far from the desire realm, because the basis and aspect, as well as the object and antidote, are far away. Among them, the distance of the basis is because it is impossible to be the basis of the immediately preceding condition of the sameness of entering into meditative absorption. The distance of the aspect is because it does not appear as the coarse aspects of the desire realm, etc. Therefore, the distance of the object is also explained.

Yes, focusing on states that rely solely on the fourth dhyana, etc. The reason why the antidote is long-lasting is that it is impossible for it to manifest if it is not separated from attachment to desire. Refuting, etc., is also unreasonable, because a non-object cannot refute. The learners and the non-learners. That is, from only the eight, the virtuous mind that operates in the desire realm appears at the end of the eight, that is, from one's own four grounds and the two in the form realm, that is, when arising it is virtuous, and afflicted by afflicted samadhi, because it relies on the virtue of the lower ground, it is obscured, and when arising it is from the learners and non-learners. Non-virtuous minds come from ten. Except for the learners and non-learners, when rebirth occurs in the desire realm, non-virtuous minds arise after all minds of the form and formless realms. From that, there are four. At the end of a non-virtuous mind, four minds arise, that is, only one's own ground. As the non-virtuous mind of the desire realm has been explained. The obscured is the same. It arises only at the end of the ten, and from that there are only four. The unobscured comes from five. Combined with "in the desire realm," the unobscured and unindicated mind appears at the end of the five, that is, one's own four grounds, and the emanation mind from the virtue that operates in the form realm. From that, the end is seven minds. The unobscured and unindicated karma that operates in the desire realm is one's own four grounds, and the two that operate in the form realm, that is, the end of the emanation mind is virtuous, and when rebirth occurs it is afflicted, and when rebirth occurs it is only the afflicted that operates in the formless realm. Virtue in the form realm comes from eleven. In the form realm, whatever is a virtuous mind, only eleven minds arise at its end, except for the unobscured and unindicated mind that operates in the formless realm. That is the end of the nine. The virtuous mind that operates in the form realm appears at the end of the nine, that is, the two afflicted ones that operate in the desire realm, and the unobscured and unindicated ones that operate in the formless realm.
