Those who have completely ceased and are free from attachment also possess it. Actions of body and speech are form. Therefore, these are not to be abandoned by seeing, because there is no wrong conception of the truths, and also because at the patience of knowing the Dharma of suffering, it would follow that one is an ordinary being. That which is not born from the sixth is also not, the so-called sixth is the mind-source. That which is born from other than that is not born from the sixth, that is, whatever is born from the five faculties, that is also not to be abandoned by seeing. Among the eighteen realms, what is view, and what is not view? The aspects of eye and Dharma realms are views. What are they? It is said: eight kinds. The five views such as the view of the aggregates, as well as worldly right view, the view of learners, and the view of non-learners. These eight aspects of the Dharma realm are views. The rest are not views. Among them, the view of the aggregates, etc., will be explained when the detailed explanation is taught. Worldly right view is the virtuous wisdom associated with mind consciousness, which is contaminated. The uncontaminated view of learners is that of learners. The non-learner is that of non-learners. Just as looking at form on a cloudy and cloudless night and day, worldly beings with and without afflictions, as well as the views of learners and non-learners, are all observations of the Dharma. Furthermore, why is it that only what is associated with mind consciousness is called worldly right view? It is said thus: The wisdom that arises simultaneously with the five consciousnesses is not a view because it lacks definite understanding. The one who discriminates is a view. If one engages in definite thought, then the wisdom that arises together with the five consciousnesses is not like that, therefore this is not a view. For that very reason, other wisdom, whether afflicted or unafflicted, is also not a view. Then, if the eye also does not discriminate, how is it a view? It is in the sense of seeing forms, because the eye sees forms. If

If the eye sees, will it also be seen by possessing other consciousnesses? It is not the case that all eyes can see. What then? Dependence. When it is together with consciousness, then it can see, otherwise it is not. If that is the case, then will only the consciousness that relies on the eye see? It cannot be definitively said that the consciousness that relies on it can see. Why? Because what is obstructed, form cannot be seen. Because form obstructed by walls and the like cannot be seen. If consciousness could see, then because it is unobstructed, it should also be unobstructed for walls and the like, and it should also be able to see obscured forms. For what is obscured, the consciousness of the eye does not arise. Therefore, how can what has not arisen see? If it does not arise, according to the saying that the eye can see, because the eye is obstructed, it cannot enter what is obscured, and consciousness also enters the same realm together with its basis, so it cannot but arise. Is the eye also like the sense organ of the body, touching that realm? Like this, because it is obstructed, it cannot see what is obscured, and how can it see what is obstructed by agate, thorny plants, glass, and water? Therefore, the eye is obstructed, so it is not the case that it cannot see obscured forms. What then? For what there is no obstruction to appearance, even if form is obscured, the consciousness of the eye will arise; for what there is obstruction, consciousness will not arise, and because it has not arisen, it cannot see what is obscured. Then, in the sutra it says: 'Whatever the eye sees after seeing forms.' The intention there is to rely on it, just as it is said that the mind distinguishes all dharmas. Because the mind is past, it cannot distinguish all dharmas. What then? It is the consciousness of the mind. Or, the action of relying is close to what is relied upon, like saying to call the bed. As it says in the sutra: the consciousness of the eye knows.
