If it is said that those places of the object become the object, then, for those who understand the Dharma in suffering and origin, because they are not the antidote to them, and everything is not the antidote, and because they are not the antidote to what is abandoned by seeing, so they are not the antidote to all form and formless realms. Therefore, because there is no beginning, and because it is not the first, it is not an object. Also, why are desire, anger, pride, holding views, and holding precepts and vows not considered to be objects of the uncontaminated? Because desire is not, it is to be abandoned. If desire is to be abandoned, if it is the object of the uncontaminated, then it becomes not to be abandoned, like the desire for virtuous Dharma. Because it does not harm, it is not hatred. Because anger arises from harmful things, but cessation and the path are not like that. Because of peace, purity, and excellence, it is not pride, nor is it holding views. Cessation and the path are peaceful, so they are not the source of being filled with pride. Also, because it is pure in the true sense, holding these two as pure is not holding precepts and vows. Holding the inferior as superior is holding views, and these two are also superior. Therefore, it is unreasonable to think that their object is uncontaminated. Then, among the ninety-eight latent defilements, which ones increase through the object? Which ones increase only through similar correspondence? The latent defilements that go everywhere, through the door of the object, increase in all places of their own ground. Those who do not go everywhere, their own kind. All those latent defilements that go everywhere, those increase through the door of the object in all five forms of their own place. All those who do not go everywhere increase through the door of the object in their own place, only in their own category, and not in other places. For example, what is abandoned by seeing suffering also increases only in the category of what is abandoned by seeing suffering. Similarly, what is abandoned by cultivation also only in what is abandoned by cultivation.

It only changes to the point of increasing. Otherwise, it is not. Generally, it is done by setting a target to indicate, but it is not the object of the undefiled upper realm. The subtle increases that take the undefiled as their object only do not increase through the means of the object, and those that take the upper ground as their object are also not. Why? Because the object of their object is the antidote that has not been taken as one's own. Any object that has been taken as one's own by views of self and desire, other subtle increases can also increase, just like dust accumulating on wet cloth. The undefiled is not like that, nor is the lower ground, so the objects of those do not increase in them. Anyone who stays here and strives for that is desiring non-virtuous dharmas. Nirvana and the path are the antidotes to the afflictions that take them as their object, and the upper ground is also the antidote to the lower ones, so it is not seen that they stay there, just as one does not see the soles of the feet staying on a burning stone. Others say that the meaning of subtle increase is the meaning of conformity, but they are not in accordance with those, just as rough food does not increase a person with wind disease. What increases through the means of the object has been said. Whatever is in accordance with anything, it increases through the means of being in accordance with it. Connect the word "increase." Any subtle increase that is in accordance with any dharma, it increases through the means of being in accordance with it. The word "ni" is to emphasize the meaning of "as long as it has not been abandoned." Those that take the undefiled as their object are also not, nor are those that are universally present in the unequal realms. Do those subtle increases also increase through the means of being in accordance, but not through the means of the object, exist? Answer: Yes. Namely, the subtle increases that are universally present on the unequal ground. Of those ninety-eight subtle increases, how many are non-virtuous? How many are unstated? All upper grounds are unstated. For the time being, form and formless
