For example, the ninth form arises from these three. Which three? Namely, pride, excessive pride, and slight pride. Among them, the first three are the three prides based on views: excessive pride, pride, and slight pride. The second three are slight pride, pride, and excessive pride. The third three are pride, excessive pride, and slight pride. For the moment, thinking that one is slightly inferior to the most excellent is considered slight pride because it is a state of contentment. If one thinks that one is not inferior to anyone, then what room is there for contentment? Among the assembly of beings who desire manifestation, such a thought exists, even if one is inferior, thinking, "I am lowly." Furthermore, this is the view explained in the Entering Wisdom, fully adopting the teachings from the Vibhaṅga, thinking, "I am supreme," which, in relation to the inferior, the equal, and the superior, is both pride and excessive pride, and even more pride than pride. Then, by what should these seven prides be abandoned? It is said: Abandoned by seeing and meditation. These are to be exhausted by seeing and meditation. Therefore, it will be said that all are to be abandoned by seeing and meditation. If the noble ones do not abandon what is to be abandoned by meditation, do they universally practice what remains? It is not certain; for example, what is to be abandoned by meditation is killing and all entanglements. For what purpose are these entanglements considered? From killing living beings to lying, these are to be abandoned by cultivation because they aim at the dharma to be abandoned by meditation. Likewise, the craving for destruction. The craving for destruction is also to be abandoned by meditation. What is this dharma called the craving for destruction? It is the impermanence of the three realms, and seeking meaning in that is the craving for destruction. Similarly, the word "thus" indicates the side of the craving for existence.

Like, "What's wrong with me becoming the son of the elephant king, protector of the earth?" and so on are also included. It is said that what is to be abandoned through meditation is all forms of pride. Although there is pride arising from the thought "I am," in the case of the noble ones, the thought of "forms, etc." does not arise. Saying "etc." includes the craving for annihilation. Why don't these arise even if they are not abandoned? Because they are increased by views. All forms of pride and pride arising from the thought "I am" are increased by the view of the aggregates of destruction. Therefore, even if the waist is broken, it cannot exist. Afflictions such as killing are increased by wrong views. The craving for annihilation is increased by the view of annihilation. The aspect of existence of birth is increased by the view of permanence. Is it not unwholesome regret? If it is said that unwholesome regret is also to be abandoned through meditation, then it does not arise in the noble ones, because it is aroused by doubt. Also, among the ninety-eight subtle attachments, which are universally present? Which are not universally present? Views to be abandoned by seeing suffering and cause, views, likewise doubt, and whatever is unmixed with them, whatever ignorance is, is universally present. The various views to be abandoned by seeing suffering and the origin, as well as doubt, and the ignorance corresponding to them, and the unmixed ignorance to be abandoned by seeing suffering and the origin alone. Thus, the seven views, the two doubts, and the two ignorances, these eleven subtle attachments, because they focus on all their own realms, are universally present in the realms of equal fate. Is it gradually or simultaneously focused on? If gradually, then it is too much for the others as well. If it is said to be simultaneous, then who would believe that all of the desire realm has disappeared? Or believe that all non-causes are causes? It cannot be said that all are focused on simultaneously. However, all five aspects are focused on simultaneously. Even so, for those who have a view of self
