Furthermore, the mention of "in order" is to understand that in the middle is also like the beginning and the end. That is the dharma of harmonious union. When explaining karma, this should also be written in full. In the scriptures it is said: "Karma born of non-reason, and karma born of reason, and karma that is neither born of reason nor born of non-reason," then what are their definitions? That which is born of non-reason is afflicted. Some say it is the decay of ritual. Some say that karma born of non-reason is afflicted karma, because it arises from improper attention and acts. Others say that it is also the decay of ritual, if one changes how one should go, how one should dwell, how one should eat, how one should wear, and so on, then that is acting non-rationally, so it is called born of non-reason. Karma born of reason is virtuous karma. Others say that it is also the non-decay of ritual. Other than these two is neither. Does one karma only project one birth, or does it also project many? Similarly, do many karmas also project one birth? Or do they only project many? This is the established tenet, one karma projects one birth. One karma only projects one birth, not many. What is called birth refers to the same kind, it is called birth when one arrives there. Then, how should it be explained that the Venerable Maudgalyayana, without ceasing, with the ripening of my one alms round, was born seven times among the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens, until now he was born into the wealthy Shakya lineage? This is because he obtained wealth, remembered past lives, and also performed other merits, therefore he shows the teaching, for example, a person who turned one copper coin into a millionaire, saying that I obtained this power with one copper coin. It is also said that relying on that alms round, many streams of consciousness arose, from which some fruits were taken. Homogeneous segmented projection will

Since it has come, many karmas do not cause one birth, but the similar kind born from one karma is considered to be completed by many karmas. For example, just as a painter uses one brush to complete the entire image from a section of the form. Although this is similar to humans, some will have all the faculties, limbs, and details complete, and will be very beautiful because of the perfection of color, complexion, figure, and strength. And some will not have some of those. Karma alone is also not what causes birth, so what is it? It is other factors related to the fully ripened result. In all cases, the state of mindless absorption and the non-procreator are also obtained. The mindless absorptions associated with the fully ripened result also do not cause the birth of similar kinds, because they do not arise simultaneously with karma. Those who have attained also do not, because they are not karma and result. What is the nature of the three obscurations that the Blessed One spoke of: karmic obscurations, afflictive obscurations, and the obscurations of fully ripened results? Uninterrupted actions and great afflictions, evil destinies, and non-perceptual beings, and unpleasant sounds are considered the three obscurations. The uninterrupted actions are karmic obscurations, such as: killing one's mother, killing one's father, killing an Arhat, causing dissension in the Sangha, drawing blood from the body of the Tathagata with malicious intent. Great afflictions are afflictive obscurations. Afflictions are of two kinds: great afflictions and sharp afflictions. Among them, great afflictions are those that occur constantly. Sharp afflictions are those that are great. Among them, that which is great is an obscuration, like attachment to food and so on. Afflictions that occur occasionally, although strong, can be destroyed, but those that occur constantly are not auspicious. Because of the constant occurrence of afflictions, one cannot find the time to strive to destroy them. It arises from small to medium, and from medium to large, therefore it itself is an obscuration. Evil destinies

The three, and those with unpleasant sounds in the auspicious directions, and the obscuration of the ripening of unconscious beings. What do these obstruct? They obstruct the noble path and the roots of virtue that lead to the practice of the noble path. As for the certainty of falling into evil realms, and becoming egg-born, becoming moisture-born, becoming female, and other actions that will certainly lead to the eighth existence, should they also be discussed? Only those that are easy to explain and establish through the five ways—basis, fruit, action, birth, and person—are discussed, not the others. Among these, the obscuration of afflictions is the lowest of all. Next is the obscuration of karma. These two will lead to the inability to recover even in the next life. The Vaibhashikas say that this is to guide the next. What is the meaning of "uninterrupted"? Because it is impossible to interrupt the maturation of karma with fruition in other lifetimes, it is uninterrupted, which means unconquerable. Alternatively, because there is no interruption for the person who commits these actions to die from here and be reborn in hell, it is uninterrupted. Its essence is uninterruptedness itself. Because of what dharma is it uninterrupted? Just like the discipline of a renunciate. Furthermore, which of these obscurations should be considered to exist in which realm? For the time being, uninterruptedness exists in the three continents. The unpleasant sounds of the north, and other sentient beings, do not exist, let alone other realms. In those places, only males and females have it, not eunuchs and the like. Why? Because the reason for not having vows is the same. Furthermore, because benefit and shame are small. Parents and they are in order. Parents are because they will become the owners of those impure bodies, and because love is small, so benefit is small. Those people are also touched by the uninterrupted sins because they have done what they should not have done to their parents, and they have a great deal of shame and embarrassment.
