Therefore, there is neither a preliminary preparation nor a final completion. Here, it should be explained, when a being is in the state of dying, which forms of manifestation and non-manifestation are the paths of action? Or is it when they are in the state of being dead that they are the paths of action? What will be the result of this? If we temporarily assume that they are in the state of dying, then killing or causing to kill, and dying together, will also be associated with the transgression of killing, but according to established tenets, this is not the case. However, if they are already dead, then when killing is done by striking in any way, the manifestation at that moment, and the non-manifestation of that instant, if someone says that is the true path of action, that should not be said. Furthermore, it has been said in the scriptures: Is there a cessation of killing when a living being is killed? Answer: There is no cessation. For example, it is impossible to kill a living being without preparation. Here, the word "completion" is considered synonymous with preparatory action, which contradicts the view of the Vibhajyavādins, because at that time, only the thing itself does not cease. It is like being without fault. Just as there is no fault, the thing itself is considered synonymous with preparatory action. So, at that time, how does manifestation become the true path of action? And how does it not become the true path of action? Because it is impossible. Then how can it become non-manifestation? Therefore, when the result of the preparatory action is fully mature, both are the paths of action. Are there other preparatory actions or completions of other paths of action that are other paths of action? Answer: Yes. The preparatory action of killing can also be the completion of all ten paths of action, for example, in order to kill an enemy, conspiring with others, performing sacrifices with livestock; or in order to have others kill the enemy, committing adultery with the enemy's wife; or using lies, divisive speech, harsh words, and idle chatter to alienate the friends of those who would help him; or coveting his property; or harboring malice towards him; or increasing wrong views in order to kill him, and so on. Similarly, it is the same for others.
