not a field. The main factor of maturation is feeling, therefore this should be examined. Is the maturation of karma only the feeling of the mind, and not of the body? Is it only the feeling of the body, and not of the mind? Answer: Yes. The maturation of non-conceptual, virtuous karma is, it is only considered the feeling of the mind. Non-conceptual karma exists from special meditative concentration up to the peak of existence. The maturation of that non-conceptual virtuous karma is only the feeling of the mind. Why is it not the feeling of the body? Because that is necessarily thought, examination, and analysis. Non-virtuous is of the body. The maturation of non-virtuous karma is only the feeling of the body. Why is it not the feeling of the mind? Because its maturation is the feeling of suffering. The mind's feeling of suffering is displeasure, and displeasure is not maturation, that has already been said. So, what is the distraction of sentient beings' minds, which mind does it reside in, and what cause does it arise from? The distracted mind comes from the mind-consciousness. Mind, is a synonym for what is called mind-consciousness. The five aggregates of consciousness do not have distraction, because there is no conceptualization. That is born from the maturation of karma. That distracted mind is born from the maturation of karma of sentient beings. Or through the combination of substances and mantras, causing the minds of others to be distracted, or unwillingly pouring in poison and intoxicating substances, or causing deer and others to be frightened, or setting fire to forests, or pushing into cliffs, or any other action that causes others to lose their minds, thereby, its maturation will lead to distraction in future lives. Caused by fear, harm, disharmony, sorrow. For the moment, fear, for example, non-humans approach people with ugly forms, those fears will cause the mind to be distracted. How is harm? The non-humans themselves become angry, thereby striking. How is the disharmony of the four great elements?

For example, what is it like? It is the state where wind, bile, and phlegm are deranged. What is sorrow like? For example, like the son of the resident, and so on. If the mind's consciousness becomes distracted, and the mind's distraction is also born from the ripening of karma, is that so? How can the feeling of the mind not be a ripening? One cannot say that the mind itself is a ripening. Although that is so, whatever derangement of the great elements there is, that is a ripening, and because it is born from that, therefore it is a ripening, because the realms born from karma are deranged, causing the mind to be deranged, powerless, and memory to decline, therefore it is called mind distraction. In that case, it can be said that there is both mind distraction and non-distraction, which can be divided into four possibilities: temporarily distracted but not completely distracted refers to a mind that is not afflicted. Completely distracted but the mind is not distracted refers to an afflicted mind that is at peace. Both are afflicted minds that are distracted. Neither is a non-afflicted mind that is at peace. Whose minds will be distracted? Those who desire non-pleasing sounds. Those who have desires for sounds that are not pleasing, even among the gods there are mad gods, so what need is there to mention humans, animals, and pretas? The hell beings are always distracted, because they are oppressed by the intense feelings of being tormented by thousands of various harms, those who for a moment cannot even remember themselves, what need is there to mention what should and should not be done? Here, the hells that utter cries of "ཀྱི་ཧུང་སེམས་" (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning) are taken as an example. Even the noble ones other than the Buddhas have mind distraction due to imbalanced elements. But it is not due to karma, because what is certain has already ripened in the past, and what is uncertain is because it has not ripened. It is also not due to fear, because they have completely transcended the five fears. It is also not due to harm, because they do not do the cause of non-human disturbances, unwholesome things. It is also not due to sorrow, because they have realized the nature of reality. In the sutra it says: The three qualities are spoken of.

There are three: the merit of body, the merit of speech, and the merit of mind. There are three faults: the fault of body, the fault of speech, and the fault of mind. There are three impurities: the impurity of body, the impurity of speech, and the impurity of mind. Among these, the mentioned merits are impurities because they also sequentially give rise to deceit, hatred, and desire. The deceit of the body arises from a false cause, hence it is called the merit of the body, and the merits of speech and mind are similar. The actions of the body arise from hatred, because they arise from the cause of hatred, hence they are called the faults of the body, and the faults of speech and mind are similar. The actions of the body arise from desire, because they arise from the cause of desire, hence they are called the impurities of the body, and the impurities of speech and mind are similar. Due to distinctions such as black and white, there are four types of karma. There is black karma with black ripening, white karma with white ripening, black and white karma with black and white ripening, and karma that is neither black nor white and has no ripening, which is the karma that exhausts karma. Among these, non-virtue, the virtue belonging to the form realm, and the virtue belonging to the desire realm are respectively black, white, and both, and that which exhausts them is uncontaminated. Non-virtuous karma is afflicted, so it is entirely black, and its ripening is unpleasant, so its ripening is also black. The virtue belonging to the form realm is entirely white because it is not mixed with non-virtue, and its ripening is pleasant, so its ripening is also white. Why is there no mention of that which belongs to the formless realm? It is said that it is only mentioned where there are two types of ripening, the intermediate existence and the existence of birth, and where there are all three types of karma of body, speech, and mind. That is also mentioned in other sutras. The virtue belonging to the desire realm is black and white because it is mixed with non-virtue, and its ripening is mixed, so its ripening is also black and white. This is established from the perspective of continuity, not from the perspective of essence, karma or ripening is
