They are not associated with past manifestations either. Because the attainment of a weak dharma is also weak, they are not related. What makes it weak? It is the mind that makes it weak. If that is the case, then it will not be associated with the obscured and unclassified mind either? It is not like that. Manifestations are foolish and under the control of others, such a mind is not like that, taking it weakly, it will become very weak. What is said to abide in non-restraint, what is called non-restraint? Non-restraint and misconduct, and the path of a corrupt moral discipline. These are terms for non-restraint. Therefore, because body and speech are not restrained, it is non-restraint. Because it is condemned by the noble ones, and because the result is undesirable, it is misconduct. Because it is an incompatible aspect of moral discipline, it is a corrupt moral discipline. Because it is the action of body and speech, it is action. Because it is encompassed by things, it is the path of action. There are four possibilities: having manifestation but not having non-manifestation, and also not having it. Among them, for the time being, if one dwells in the intermediate state with a weak mind, if one acts, then one only possesses manifestation. One who abides in neither restraint nor non-restraint, if one with a weak mind performs a virtuous or non-virtuous act, then one only possesses manifestation, and not non-manifestation. What need is there to mention the unclassified? Except for the objects of merit arising from matter and the path of action. A noble person who has abandoned manifestation or has not yet arisen with it is non-manifestation. If some noble person has completely transformed into another life and manifestation has not yet arisen, or if manifestation has ceased, then one only possesses non-manifestation, and not manifestation. The establishment of those who abide in restraint, non-restraint, and the intermediate state, possessing manifestation and non-manifestation, has been explained. Furthermore, how are those restraints obtained? Born from meditative concentration, they are obtained by the very ground of meditative concentration. When the contaminated mind of the ground of meditative concentration is real

When obtaining the basis or approximation, one also obtains the discipline of meditation, because they arise simultaneously. In terms of the uncontaminated: the noble one obtains the uncontaminated discipline through the uncontaminated meditation, and likewise obtains the uncontaminated discipline. The uncontaminated refers to the six grounds of meditation, namely the four meditations, the unsurpassed, and the special meditation, which will be explained below. Regarding individual liberation: Through the expression of others, etc., the discipline of individual liberation, if, regarding this, others can understand, and this one can also make others understand, then it is obtained from the expression of others. That also comes from the Sangha or an individual, namely the discipline of monks, nuns, and female renunciates comes from the Sangha. Others come from individuals. The Vaibhashikas and Vinaya masters say that ordination is completed in ten ways, and in order to include these, the word "etc." is mentioned. Self-arisen refers to Buddhas and Pratyekabuddhas. By definitely entering refers to the five bases. By saying "Come, monk" refers to those with names, etc. By promising to be a teacher refers to Mahakashyapa. By pleasing with questions refers to Sudatta. By promising the teacher's Dharma refers to Mahaprajapati. By messenger refers to Dharmadana. The five belonging to the Vinaya holders refer to the people of the borderlands. The assembly of ten refers to the people of the central regions. By reciting the refuge three times refers to those ordained by the assembly of sixty good men, their discipline of individual liberation definitely does not depend on expression. Furthermore, when the discipline of individual liberation is properly taken, for how long should it be properly taken? For as long as life and day and night, the discipline should be properly taken. The discipline of individual liberation of the seven assemblies, should be properly taken for as long as life. The discipline of the upavasa should be for a day and night, that is how it is determined. Why? Because there are two ends to time: the end of life and the end of day and night. Half a month, etc., is through repeating day and night. What is the Dharma called time? That is formation.

It is a complete display of words and phrases. In the state of appearance, it is called day in the world, and in the state of darkness, it is called night. For the time being, as long as one lives, although there is correct acceptance, because the parts of the body are different, and because there is no correct practice there, because of not remembering, if it is thought that the vows will not arise, then after one day and one night, five days or ten days are also possible. Who would hinder the many arising of the upasatha vows of correctly taken upasatha vows? The Blessed One only taught the one-day-one-night upasatha in the sutras, so there is an obstacle. Now this should be analyzed. For the time being, did the Blessed One teach the one-day-one-night upasatha because he saw that vows would not arise after one day and one night? Or, for those who are difficult to subdue, taking the one-day-one-night vows is also a convenient way to practice correctly. How can that be determined? Because the arising of vows in the future is not contrary to reason. In the future, this will not be taught to anyone, so the Vaibhashikas do not allow it. Now, what is the definite time for non-vows? There is no non-vow for one day and one night. As long as one lives, non-vows will arise from promising sinful dharmas. Like upasatha, there is no one-day-one-night. Why? It is said that it cannot be received that way. Like upasatha, no one takes the non-vow correctly, saying, "May I abide in non-vow for one day and one night," because it is said to be an inferior act. If that is the case, no one takes, "May I abide in non-vow for as long as I live," so one will not obtain that for as long as one lives. If one does not take it that way, but does that action with the intention of permanently turning away, one will obtain non-vow, but not if one turns away to another time. Although the upasatha vow is not a permanent thought, because one seeks the vow, one will also generate the power of correctly taking it, so one will definitely obtain it. If some people seek non-vow, and other times
