Neither of the two born from immaturity. The mind born from Vipāka, because it proceeds without manifest activity, is neither that which causes entry nor that which follows. Now, if the expression is the same as that which causes entry, is it the same as that? Or is it like that which follows? What will become of that? If it is said to be like that which causes entry, then because the view of the perishable collection and the view of holding to extremes cause entry, this will also become an expression that is obscured and not specified. Or it must be specifically stated that all that is to be abandoned by sight is not that which causes entry. If it is said to be like that which follows, then the Prātimokṣa expression of an unwholesome mind and an unspecified mind will not become virtuous. Although the expression is like that which causes entry, it is not like that which is to be abandoned by sight because it is interrupted by that which is to be abandoned by meditation. If it is not virtuous etc. because of the power of that which follows, then the Sutra speaks with reference to the intention of the cause, not with reference to the intention of that time, therefore it should not be said that this is an expression that is obscured and not specified, but it should be said that the Sutra speaks with reference to the intention of the cause that is interrupted by others. By the way, the future is over. What was said before. Non-expression. That is called three types. Vows, non-vows, and others. Vows and non-vows and others other than those are neither vows nor non-vows. Because it prevents and blocks the cause of immoral discipline, it is a vow. Among them. Called Prātimokṣa vow. Similarly, born of undefiled Samādhi. There are three types of vows: the Prātimokṣa vow is the discipline practiced in the desires of these people. The vow of Samādhi is the discipline of those who practice in the form realm. The undefiled vow is the undefiled discipline. Among them. Called Prātimokṣa.

Eight kinds. The vows of a Bhikshu, the vows of a Bhikshuni, the vows of a Shramanera, the vows of a Shramanerika, the vows of a Upasaka, the vows of a Upasika, and the vows of a Nyungne practitioner. These eight kinds of vows are called Pratimoksha vows. In name, there are these eight kinds, but in substance, there are four kinds: the vows of a Bhikshu, the vows of a Shramanera, the vows of a Upasaka, and the vows of a Nyungne practitioner. Therefore, Pratimoksha vows, due to their distinct characteristics, have the same substance. The vows of a Bhikshu are not different from the vows of a Bhikshuni. The vows of a Shramanera are not different from the vows of a Bhikshuni and a Shramanerika. The vows of a Upasaka are not different from the vows of a Upasika. How is this known? Because names change due to gender. Gender refers to the mark, which distinguishes between male and female. Due to gender, names such as Bhikshu and Bhikshuni change. How do they change? If gender changes, a Bhikshu is called a Bhikshuni, and a Bhikshuni is also called a Bhikshu. A Shramanera is called a Shramanerika, and a Shramanerika and a Bhikshuni are also called a Shramanera. A Upasaka is called a Upasika, and a Upasika is also called a Upasaka. A change in gender does not cause the abandonment of previous vows, nor does it cause the acquisition of vows that were not previously held. Therefore, these four kinds of vows are not different in nature from the previous three. If one correctly takes the vows of a Shramanera from the vows of a Upasaka, and then correctly takes the vows of a Bhikshu from that, then, due to the increase in what is abandoned, are these vows different from each other, like numbers such as five, ten, and twenty, or like one copper coin and two copper coins? Or are they all different, but arise simultaneously? Answer: They are different. They are unmixed. In the three vows, from the three vows of abstaining from killing to the three vows of abstaining from intoxicants, their characteristics arise differently. The rest are also the same.
