If there is no manifestation, how can there be a sound source? Because there are external great elements as the cause. Others say that in the second dhyana and so on, there is also non-obscured and non-specified manifestation, but there is no virtue, and there is no affliction. Why? Because those born there, which mind of the lower ground, by what can the manifestation be fully aroused? Like that, it will not manifest, because it is inferior and has been abandoned. They say this, only mentioning the former situation. Why is there no manifestation above the realm of Brahma, and there is no non-obscured and non-specified manifestation in the desire realm? Because there is no motivation. If the mind with investigation and analysis can fully arouse manifestation, then that is not present in the second dhyana and so on. Because it is aroused by what is to be abandoned by meditation, it is looking inward, so it is not what is to be abandoned by seeing. That non-obscured and non-specified mind is also not present in the desire realm. Furthermore, is it only from the power of arousal that one can know the goodness and non-goodness of all phenomena? It is said: No. Then what is it like? There are four ways: ultimate meaning, nature, correspondence, and arousal. Among them, liberation is good for the sake of the ultimate meaning. Nirvana is the cessation of all suffering, so for the sake of supreme bliss, it is good in the ultimate sense, like being without illness. The root is the nature of being ashamed and having scruples. With the first of the three roots of virtue, being ashamed and having scruples, because it does not depend on other correspondences and arousal, it is the goodness of nature, like beneficial medicine. Those who correspond with them are correspondents. The dharmas that correspond with the roots of virtue and being ashamed and having scruples are good through correspondence, because those that do not correspond with them do not have the nature of goodness, like a drink mixed with medicine. Aroused by actions and so on. Only those actions of body and speech, and birth, etc., that are aroused by those dharmas that correspond with the roots of virtue, etc.

Acquisition, cessation, and the samadhi of non-perception are all initiatory virtues, like the milk that comes from a drink mixed with medicine. How are the acquisitions of the mind's initiation in unequal times virtuous? It must be explained. The opposite of the virtue as described above is non-virtue. How is it done? Because it is the nature of entering all the sufferings of samsara, it is extremely uncomfortable, therefore it is ultimately non-virtuous. The root of non-virtue and shamelessness and lack of shame are intrinsic. The dharmas that correspond to them are corresponding. The actions of body and speech initiated by them, as well as birth and so on, and acquisition, etc., are from initiation, and can be exemplified by medicines that are uncomfortable inside. In that case, then, are the contaminated dharmas belonging to the category of samsara not mentioned at all, or will they not become virtuous? That is what the ultimate truth says, but among the contaminated dharmas, which one is not mentioned for the sake of Vipaka? Vipaka is pleasing is virtue. If you seek the ultimate truth that has not been noted, then, the ultimate truth that has not been noted is, the unconditioned Dharma. The two, space and the cessation that is not observed separately, are innumerable unrecorded. Now this should be observed, if by the power of initiation, the actions of body and speech are good and bad, why are the four great elements not? The author is intentional about karma, not about the four great elements. There is no intention in the non-revealing form of Samadhi. The mind that is not in Samadhi is not an initiator because of inequality, so how can it be good? Or the divine eye and the divine ear, etc., will also become virtuous, so we must strive for this. What is said is that the mind that should be abandoned after seeing is not a revealing initiator. Then why did Bhagavan say that from wrong view will arise the boundaries of wrong discrimination and wrong speech and wrong action?
