That which is transformed by the mind of such a being is called (transformation). That which arises from meditation is called transformation by the mind of the transformer. Is the state of existence in the intermediate state said to arise from the four great elements? Or is it said not to arise from the four great elements? It is said to arise from the four great elements. Is the state of existence in the intermediate state said to be a form that arises from causes? Or is it said not to be a form that arises from causes? It is said to be a form that arises from causes. Is the state of existence in the intermediate state said to have consciousness? Or is it said to be without consciousness? It is said to have consciousness. By whose mind's power is the state of existence in the intermediate state transformed? It is said to be transformed by the power of one's own mind. What is eaten by the emanation, is it the emanation or the emanator whose stomach digests it? It is said that there are two kinds of emanations: those that are obtained from birth and those that arise from meditation. Of these, what is eaten by those obtained from birth is digested by the stomach of the emanation. What is eaten by those arising from meditation is digested by the stomach of the emanator. Does the emanation disappear? Or is it said that it does not disappear? It is said that there are two kinds of emanations: those that are obtained from birth and those that arise from meditation. Of these, that which arises from meditation is said to disappear. That which is obtained from birth has both that which disappears and that which does not disappear. What is it that disappears? For example, the emanation into a god, a human, an asura, a beautiful form, or an ugly form, that is what disappears. What is it that does not disappear? It is said that even if it has been long gone, that which remains in its own nature as it is, that is what does not disappear. Why does the emanation turn into smoke? It is said that it is transformed by the power of the emanator. When the emanator thinks, 'May the emanation turn into smoke!' then it will turn into smoke. Therefore, the emanation turns into smoke. Why does the emanation burn? It is said that the emanation

It is due to the power of the transformation. When the transformation thinks like this: 'Alas, may the transformation become a burning flame!' At that time, it becomes a burning flame. Therefore, the transformation burns. Why does the transformation burn its own clothes and its own body, but not burn other people's clothes and other people's bodies? The answer is: It is due to the power of the transformation. If the transformation thinks: 'May this burn!' then it will burn. Therefore, the transformation burns its own clothes and its own body, but does not burn other people's clothes and other people's bodies. Why is it that when the venerable Kasyapa Nor, in the sky, burns his body and reduces it to ashes with his own inner fire element, there is neither smoke nor ashes or residue left? The answer is: The venerable Kasyapa Nor, from the sky, transforms the ground, transforms the ground with steps, platforms, and thrones, and then transforms the steps, platforms, thrones, fire, and the source of fire. After transforming fire and the source of fire, he burns his body with his own inner fire element. When he burns and destroys his body with his own fire element, there is neither smoke nor ashes or residue left. Therefore, when the venerable Kasyapa Nor, with his own inner fire element, burns his body and reduces it to ashes, there is neither smoke nor ashes or residue left.
