If asked why not? The answer is: Because it is superior to all people. Becoming a Chakravartin is superior to many people. Therefore, start with "because of this reason" and explain in detail. Why is it that when a Bodhisattva is in the womb, the body of the Bodhisattva's mother is not harmed by fire, weapons, poison, and water, and does not die prematurely? The answer is: This is due to the power of the Bodhisattva, and this power belongs only to the Bodhisattva. Therefore, start with "when the Bodhisattva is in the womb, the body of the Bodhisattva's mother" and explain in detail. Why is it that the body of a Bodhisattva is not harmed by fire, weapons, poison, and water, and does not die prematurely? The answer is: Because it is superior to all sentient beings. Becoming a Bodhisattva is superior to many sentient beings. Therefore, start with "because of this reason" and explain in detail. Why is it that the body of King Yama is not harmed by fire, weapons, poison, and water, and does not die prematurely? The answer is: Because it is superior to the sentient beings of Yama. Therefore, start with "King Yama" and explain in detail. Why is it that the body of the elephant king Guardian's Son and the elephant king Extremely Firm is not harmed by fire, weapons, poison, and water, and does not die prematurely? The answer is: Because it is superior to the sentient beings in the animal realm. Therefore, start with "because of this reason" and explain in detail. Why is it that hell beings who are tormented by intense and unbearable suffering do not die prematurely? The answer is: Because the ripening of karma is very stable. As long as the ripening of the karma of experiencing suffering has not been completely exhausted, they will not die prematurely. Therefore, hell beings who are tormented by intense and unbearable suffering do not die prematurely. The sixth section of the great treatise on Dharma Abhidhamma, the Treatise on Causes, is completed. The Treatise on Causes, Volume Five. The beginning is in Shravasti. Monks, these three are the inner defilements, the inner enemies, and the inner adversaries.

They are internal enemies. What are the three? They are: desire, hatred, and ignorance. Monks, why is desire an internal stain, an internal adversary, an internal opponent, and an internal enemy? Monks, an enemy does to an enemy either causing them to lose their possessions or simply killing them. But that is only because of that cause and that condition that after the body breaks down and dies, they do not fall into the bad realms and bad destinies, being reborn among the hell beings. Monks, if someone is attached and overcome by desire, committing misdeeds with their body, speech, and mind, then having committed misdeeds with their body, speech, and mind, because of that cause and that condition, after the body breaks down and dies, they will fall into the bad realms and bad destinies, being reborn among the hell beings. Monks, therefore, desire, hatred, and ignorance are internal stains, internal adversaries, internal opponents, and internal enemies. The Blessed One spoke thus. After the Sugata spoke thus, the Teacher further spoke thus: One does not understand the meaning with attachment. One does not see the Dharma with attachment. Whoever accepts attachment, that one goes to darkness, dark darkness. Attachment is what generates harm. Attachment makes the mind attached. Fear that arises from within, that is not understood by beings. Whoever here abandons desire, and does not become attached to what may become attached, like a drop of water from a lotus, their desire will recede. One does not understand the meaning with hatred. One does not see the Dharma with hatred. Whoever accepts hatred, that one goes to darkness, dark darkness. Hatred is what generates harm. Hatred makes the mind hateful. Fear that arises from within, that is not understood by beings. Whoever here abandons hatred, and does not hate what may become hateful, like a ripe fruit falling off, their hatred will fall. One does not understand the meaning with delusion. One does not see the Dharma with delusion. Whoever accepts delusion, that one goes to darkness

Going in darkness. Ignorance causes harm, Ignorance makes the mind extremely ignorant. Those who have fear arising from within, Ordinary people cannot understand that. Whoever abandons ignorance here, And is not ignorant towards those who will become ignorant, Like the darkness dispelled by the rising sun, Their darkness of delusion will not exist. Whoever cuts off these three dharmas, Like cutting off the head of a Tala tree, After contacting them, before long, They will not go to rebirth. Therefore, attachment and hatred, And ignorance should be abandoned, A monk who generates wisdom, Will attain the cessation of suffering. Why does the portion of attachment increase? It is said: Because they cultivate and increase all the roots of unwholesome attachment, and do not cultivate and increase all the roots of wholesome non-attachment. Furthermore, they cultivate and increase the perception of desire, the realm of desire, and the discrimination of desire, and do not cultivate and increase the perception of renunciation, the realm of renunciation, and the discrimination of renunciation. Furthermore, they cultivate and increase diligence in ornamentation and covering, and do not cultivate and increase separation from ornamentation and covering. Furthermore, they cultivate and increase the signs of the pleasing, and do not cultivate and increase the samadhi of the mind of the displeasing. Furthermore, they cultivate and increase the unguarded doors of the senses, and do not cultivate and increase the guarded doors of the senses, similarly, not knowing moderation in food, not being diligent in not sleeping during the upper and lower parts of the night, not being diligent in cultivating calm abiding, not being diligent in cultivating insight, they cultivate and increase irrational attention, and do not cultivate and increase rational attention. Furthermore, whatever sentient beings have a large portion of attachment
