There are eight, namely: Body and Body Superior, Whisk and Other Whisk, Mobile and Near Mobile, Unpleasant Sound and Companion of Unpleasant Sound. Among these eight subcontinents, seven are inhabited by humans, and one is inhabited by non-humans. The gods of the Four Great Kings have knowledge and vision of those below, but not of those above, except through magical powers or other powers. Similarly, the Thirty-three Gods, the Non-contention Gods, the Tushita Gods, the Delightful Transformation Gods, the Other-controlled Transformation Gods, the Brahma Assembly Gods, the Brahma Retinue Gods, the Great Brahma Gods, the Small Light Gods, the Immeasurable Light Gods, the Clear Light Gods, the Small Virtue Gods, the Immeasurable Virtue Gods, the Universal Purity Gods, the Cloudless Gods, the Merit-born Gods, the Great Fruit Gods, the Non-affliction Gods, the Non-heat Gods, the Good Manifestation Gods, and the Akanishta Gods also have knowledge and vision of those below, but not of those above, except through magical powers or other powers. The gods of Akanishta have knowledge and vision in all places. The base below the Great Hell of Uninterrupted Suffering extends downward from here for forty thousand yojanas. The surface above the Great Hell of Uninterrupted Suffering reaches downward from here for twenty thousand yojanas. Above it is the Great Hot Hell, above it is the Great Crying Hell, above it is the Crying Hell, above it is the Crushing Hell, above it is the Black Rope Hell, above it is the Revival Hell. These eight Great Hells are arranged in order of height, each with sixteen additional retinues. Forty thousand yojanas above here is where the gods of the Four Great Kings reside. From the gods of the Four Great Kings upwards, up to the First Dhyana Heaven, the Thirty-three Gods reside there, as far as the distance is. Thus, it is extensively explained.

As much as there is from the gods of extreme vision up to the first, so many are the gods of Akanistha. There are eight kinds of clouds. The height of the highest of the clouds is two and a half yojanas. The second is one yojana and one quarter of a yojana. The third is one yojana. The fourth is less than one quarter of a yojana. The fifth is half a yojana. The sixth is one krosha. The seventh is half a krosha. The eighth is one quarter of a krosha. The thirteenth section from "Establishment of the World". The introduction is when he was in Nyan (Bamboo Grove Monastery). Then the Blessed One said to the monks: Monks, I will explain the dharmas that are harmful and not harmful, listen to them carefully and think about them very well, and I will explain. What are the harmful dharmas? Whether it is a man or a woman, whoever has immoral conduct and sinful dharmas, is endowed with misconduct of body, is endowed with misconduct of speech, and is endowed with misconduct of mind, when he is afflicted with illness and becomes miserable, and is struck by a serious illness and sits on a bed, sits on a chair, sits on the ground, or lies down, the bodily sensations are painful, unbearable, rough, hot, unpleasant, and life-threatening, when these afflict him, then the past misconduct of body, or misconduct of speech, or misconduct of mind, whichever it may be, will become the object, and will become more and more the object, just as in the summer, the shadows of great mountains or small mountains fall into the valleys, and become larger and larger, and become very apparent, so too, for him, the past misconduct of body, or misconduct of speech, or misconduct of mind, whichever it may be, will become the object, and will become more and more the object.

Having become. He thinks thus: Alas, I have committed such sins, having committed them with body, speech, and mind. Alas, my merit is such that I have not committed them with body, speech, and mind. Sins have been committed, harshness has been committed, malice has been committed, merit has not been committed, virtue has not been committed, refuge from fear and terror has not been taken, to whatever destination those beings are going, in the next life they will go to those destinations, he thinks thus, and he will regret it. Monks, dying in regret is not good. Passing away is not good. The next life is not good, because he has practiced evil conduct of body, and has also practiced evil conduct of speech and mind, and due to those causes and conditions, having separated from the body and died, he will fall into evil destinies, evil paths, and wrong paths, and will be born in the hells of sentient beings, this is called the dharmas that cause harm. What are the dharmas that do not cause harm? Whether it is a man or a woman, whoever is virtuous, possessing virtuous dharmas, possessing good conduct of body, possessing good conduct of speech, and possessing good conduct of mind, when he is afflicted by illness and becomes miserable, having been struck by a severe illness, sitting on a bed, or sitting on a chair, or sitting on the ground, or lying down, the bodily sensations are painful, unbearable, rough, hot, unpleasant, and life-threatening, when he is afflicted by these sensations, his previous good conduct of body, or good conduct of speech, or good conduct of mind, whichever it may be, at that time it will become his object, and will become more clearly the object, and will appear as the object. For example, in the hot season, the shadows of great mountains or mountain peaks fall into the valleys, and fall more clearly, and appear to fall, similarly, his previous good conduct of body, or good conduct of speech, or good conduct of mind, whichever it may be, at that time it will become his object, and will become more clearly the object, and will appear as the object. He thinks thus: Alas, I have committed such merit, with body and speech.
