Looking at the sun will harm the eyes, but looking at the moon's disc will not cause harm. This is the ninth section from "Establishing the World." The sutra says: "Having attachment to the great elements, and also having attachment to self, having the perception of earth in the sky, time is divided into two, and the instant is the smallest. The four great elements are the earth element, the water element, the fire element, and the wind element. Sentient beings also have the perception of earth in earth; they also have the perception of water; they also have the perception of fire; they also have the perception of wind. Sentient beings also have the perception of earth in water; they also have the perception of water; they also have the perception of fire; they also have the perception of wind. Sentient beings also have the perception of earth in fire; they also have the perception of water; they also have the perception of fire; they also have the perception of wind. Sentient beings also have the perception of earth in wind; they also have the perception of water; they also have the perception of fire; they also have the perception of wind. Sentient beings also have the perception of self in earth; they also have the perception of water; they also have the perception of fire; they also have the perception of wind. Sentient beings also have the perception of self in earth, whatever is the earth element, that is self, and whatever is self, that is earth, therefore earth and self are inseparable and not different, my self is complete, therefore they honor the earth, respect it, depict it, and make offerings to it. They have honored, respected, and depicted it. Having made offerings, they rejoice and are satisfied, and are delighted, honoring and closely relying on it, and prophesying the place with their minds. Sentient beings also have the perception of self in water, fire, and wind, whatever is wind, that is self, and whatever is self, that is wind, therefore wind and self are inseparable and not different, my self is complete, therefore they honor the wind, respect it, depict it, and make offerings to it. They have honored, respected, and depicted it. Having made offerings, they rejoice and are satisfied, and are delighted, honoring

Because of being close and relying on the place, the mind made a prophecy. There are sentient beings who perceive the earth as space. How does one perceive the earth as space? How does one perceive the earth as space? For example, a sesame farmer said to some well diggers: 'Hey, do you see the human elephant that looks like a smokeless tree?' They said, 'We didn't see it.' 'Does it eat sesame? Or not?' They said, 'It doesn't eat.' This is how one perceives the earth as space. How does one perceive space as earth? For example, a certain Brahmin traveled by donkey cart, got off the donkey cart, tied the donkey cart to a stake, planted the stake in space, planted it, wrapped his head with grass, and lay on his back on the ground. This is how one perceives space as earth. There is one time of the year when the night is eighteen yudzas and the day is twelve yudzas. There is one time of the year when the night is eighteen yudzas and the day is twelve yudzas, when is that? On the eighth day of the waxing half of the ninth minor month, the night is eighteen yudzas and the day is twelve yudzas. After the ninth day, the night becomes shorter and the day becomes longer, the night shortens by one thang cig each time, and the day lengthens by one thang cig each time. There is one time of the year when the day is eighteen yudzas and the night is twelve yudzas. There is one time of the year when the day is eighteen yudzas and the night is twelve yudzas, when is that? It is said that on the eighth day of the waxing half of the autumn month, the day is eighteen yudzas and the night is twelve yudzas. After the ninth day, the day becomes shorter and the night becomes longer, the day shortens by one thang cig each time, and the night lengthens by one thang cig each time. There are two times of the year when the night is also fifteen yudzas and the day is also fifteen yudzas. There are two times of the year when the night is also fifteen yudzas and the day is also fifteen yudzas, when are those? It is said that on the eighth day of the waxing half of the spring minor month and the eighth day of the waxing half of the autumn minor month, the night is also fifteen yudzas and the day is also fifteen yudzas. There are four dharmas, what are the four?
