Where is the characteristic of a real entity? Whatever is called "form," up to "Buddha-dharma," these which are spoken and designated with temporary names are merely conceptualizations. Furthermore, when they enter the realm of non-conceptualization and are separated from conceptualizations, what will those that exist or do not exist be focused on? Where will these, which are called temporary names from what is called "form" up to "Buddha-dharma," be placed? Therefore, since non-conceptualization is not focused on here, these are merely conceptualizations, so it is clearly shown that these names and characteristics are all conventional truths. Because the nature of one and many are contradictory, it is also false. As it is said in the "Noble Lankavatara Sutra": Like the image in a mirror, abandoning one and other, it appears but is not there, so is the nature of things. Here, the word "nature" shows the nature of characteristics, because the distinction of establishing the differences of their own characteristics depends on the difference of characteristics. Therefore, all dharmas are only mind, only consciousness, and only clarity, because the object of consciousness, the external object, does not exist. The aspects of consciousness also do not exist as the nature of the subject. These two are the completely imputed nature of all dharmas because they are manifested by the mind. What does it depend on to impute? It depends on the non-real pervasive conceptualization that appears as real, born from the habit of clinging to the nature of meaningless pervasive imputation. This non-real pervasive conceptualization is the dependent nature of all dharmas, and it is also confusion, inversion, and wrong knowledge. Thus, its object and subject aspects are false because they are merely appearances of confusion and delusion, so this non-real pervasive conceptualization is called that, and its nature is non-real. What is real? It is merely elimination. Therefore, that aspect is called the characteristic of confusion and the characteristic of elaboration, because it is the object of confusion.

It is also called the mark of duality, because it appears as two. All those marks of elaboration will cease in the wisdom that transcends the world. Therefore, it is also called non-erroneous and true wisdom. For the very reason that it is also the nature of perfect accomplishment, because non-erroneousness itself is perfect accomplishment. Since it is perfectly accomplished in a non-inverted way, it is perfectly accomplished. Likewise, since Suchness is perfectly accomplished as immutable, the nature is the immutable perfect accomplishment. Here, "other" refers to the cause of non-discrimination since beginningless time. True wisdom is the far shore, because it arises from the cause of present habituation. Only untrue complete imputation is other-powered, but true wisdom is not. Therefore, for the dharmas of complete imputation and the marks of elaboration, cause and effect should be negated, since they are false. Otherwise, the mind and the luminous bodies arising from the mind are not pure. As it is said in the Holy Lankavatara Sutra: Cause and condition are averted, and the agent is also prohibited. I have said that there is no birth, and it is established as mind-only. Nagarjuna also said: Things have no birth, and where is there cessation? This very consciousness is what changes in birth and cessation. What is said about the great elements, etc., is truly included in consciousness. If it is separated from wisdom, how could it not be a wrong discrimination? Through these words, all of this has been explained. What was said about the great elements, etc., is truly included in consciousness, that is, it belongs to the category of consciousness. Just as there are no external great elements, etc., children also give rise to the consciousness that appears there. Through extremely non-erroneous wisdom, it disappears. Because of discriminating in an inverted way, that is, because of the past discrimination of illusion, it is false. This is the meaning of the second verse. Therefore, the Yogacara and Madhyamaka conclusions are the same. Only this part.
