Acting with attachment, the transformation of regret and uncertainty, all the faults of obstruction, are the obscurations of sentient beings. Its antidote is the supreme vehicle, which is taught and completely eliminated. It is said that for bodhisattvas of definite lineage and for śrāvakas, looking back at the Mahāyāna is separation from uncertainty. Having abandoned it, in order for the bodhisattvas to be embraced by the Mahāyāna, and in order to tame the śrāvakas, the supreme vehicle is taught, which is the exposition of the supreme vehicle. These obstructions themselves are the eight obscurations, such as despising the Buddha. Among them, the antidote to the obscuration of despising the Buddha is the teaching of the excellence of hearing, just as I myself was at that time, from Vipaśyin to Kāśyapa. The antidote to obscuring all dharmas is like the sands of the Ganges, and so on, as before. The antidote to the obscuration of laziness is like the Land of Bliss, and the immaculate moonlight, and so on, as before. The antidote to the obscuration of being satisfied with a small amount is like the Blessed One criticizing some acts of generosity and praising others. The antidote to the obscuration of acting with attachment is like describing the perfect splendor of the Buddha-field. The antidote to the obscuration of acting with pride is like describing some Buddhas as particularly perfect. The antidote to the obscuration of regret is like those sentient beings who harm the bodhisattvas, those who will go to the heavens. The antidote to the obscuration of being separated from uncertainty is like the prediction of great śrāvakas becoming Buddhas, and the teaching that the one vehicle is exhausted and there is no second. Here, the intention to abandon the obscurations is a veiled intention. From sūtras such as the *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra*, the three natures are taught: the completely imputed nature (Parikalpita), the other-dependent nature (Paratantra), and the thoroughly established nature (Pariniṣpanna). The Blessed One, with an intention that is not inverted, taught with the terms the completely imputed, the discriminated, and the nature of dharma, which is the form of the completely imputed.

From "imputation of forms" and "forms of dharmata," and so on, up to "all the dharmas of the Buddha." Those characteristics and so on, which have been extensively and definitively explained in the sutras, will be briefly stated here. Whatever dharmas are conceptualized by the speech of the mind familiar with names, those are the nature of the completely imputed because they do not possess the nature as it is. For example, forms, sounds, eyes, ears, and so on. In short, they can be summarized into two types: the apprehended and the apprehender. Because of the power of the habitual tendencies of manifest clinging to the nature of the completely imputed, even though the two do not exist, they still arise as appearing as two. If that is abandoned, then the consciousness that arises as appearing as two will not arise. That is because it depends on causes and conditions, so it is the nature of the other-dependent of all dharmas. Whatever is other-dependent, which is empty and solitary, that is, separated, from the completely imputed at all times, that is because it is established as one in the same way at all times, so it is the nature of the perfectly established of all dharmas. Whatever dharma is never empty of the two, that is not even a little bit existent; and emptiness never changes, so from all to all it becomes of one taste like space. Because space is characterized by being formless, it is always of one taste at all times. Similarly, emptiness is also the nature of being characterized by non-duality. Therefore, it is the nature of being always of one taste at all times. Therefore, the nature of the perfectly established is spoken of. Among them, the first is imputed by children as being just that, so it is an imputed existence, which is neither substantially existent nor ultimately existent. The second is substantially existent because it arises dependently, but it is not existent by imputation. The third is ultimately existent because it is focused on the meaning of purification, and it is focused on it for the sake of purification, but not for the sake of complete defilement. On the nature of the other-dependent, it also becomes ultimately existent by focusing on the nature of the perfectly established, but it does not focus on the nature of the completely imputed.
