Others and both. Which are established only by it (the definitive sutra)? Such as the "Holy Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra" and the "Holy Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra," etc. Which are established by something other than it (the provisional sutra)? Such as the "Holy Aṣṭasāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra," etc. Which are established by both? Such as the "Holy Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra," etc. Among these, in its chapter on the Dharmakāya, it says: Because it has the function of rejoicing in the aspect of non-inversion, and because it has the explanation of the definitive meaning of the aspect of completely abandoning the inversion of the aspect of being manifestly attached to the meaning of the words as they are. Any meaning determined by the Tathāgata and bodhisattvas such as those approved by him should not be led to a meaning other than it, because the Bhagavan himself is the supreme among the measurers of people, and also because it would fall into endless faults. The meaning of the definitive is that the teachings taught by the Tathāgata explain four intentions and four hidden intentions. Among these, the four intentions are: intention in equality, intention in another time, intention in another meaning, and intention in the thought of the individual. The four hidden intentions are: hidden intention in introduction, hidden intention in antidote, hidden intention in characteristic, and hidden intention in transformation. Among these, explaining the meaning that one wants to express is intention. Explaining the intention of the word that is taught is hidden intention. Among these, intention in equality is like saying, "I myself became the Tathāgata Vipaśyin at that time and at that moment," etc., this is intention in the equality of the Dharmakāya. Intention in another time is like saying, "One who makes aspirations in Sukhāvatī will be born there," etc., and "Whoever holds the name of the Tathāgata Candraprabha Vimalakirti will surely attain unsurpassed enlightenment," etc., this is intention in another time. Intention in another meaning is like saying, "After serving and honoring Buddhas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, one will fully realize the Mahāyāna," etc., this is the sign of individually knowing the realm of reality.

It refers to the meaning of arising. Regarding the intention towards the individual's thought, for example, disparaging some teachings while praising others, in order to lead those who are content with one teaching to engage in the practice of other teachings, it is said to accord with their thoughts. To speak euphemistically for the sake of guidance, for example, saying that there are spontaneously born beings, and that there are phenomena such as form and sound, this is to guide those who fear the selflessness of persons and phenomena in sequence. To speak euphemistically for the sake of antidote, for example, like the second verse of the dharani, which will be discussed below. To speak euphemistically for the sake of definition, for example, saying that there is nothing from form to the Dharma of the Buddha, that from form to the Dharma of the Buddha is like an illusion, that from form to the Dharma of the Buddha is like space, etc., this is to emphatically show that all phenomena are non-existent, like illusions, and like space, according to the order of the three natures of the completely imputed, dependent, and thoroughly established. To speak euphemistically for the sake of transformation, for example: "Without essence, yet desiring essence; abiding in the inverted; completely afflicted by afflictions; one will attain supreme enlightenment." This is the lion's transformation made for the sake of profound meaning. These transformations are like this: "Without essence" refers to the absence of mental scattering, which is samadhi. "Desiring essence" refers to generating the thought of essence towards it. Because of turning away from worldly attachments, the inverted refers to impermanence, suffering, impurity, and selflessness, abiding in these. Afflictions refer to the fatigue arising from long-term effort in difficult matters, being deeply tormented by it. In the second chapter of the dharani in the Sutra Collection of the Extremely Extensive Hundred Thousand Verses, the second verse is the main text, and the third verse is the benefit, namely, despising the Buddha's teachings, being content with slight laziness, greed and pride.
