The continuous entering of the intention of speaking is called the path related to the union of Shamatha and Vipassana. From the instructions of the Prajnaparamita, the second stage of yoga that focuses on the mind as it is. Then the third is, generate the mind of various appearances in this way, and examine it closely in this way: These various eighteen realms are only mind because they are empty of inherent existence with grasping and being grasped. Whatever appears as name and meaning from what is called this form to the dharma of all dharmas, is like this: from the aggregates, realms, and sources to all dharmas, it appears because of how the dharma appears, so these are the characteristics of all dharmas. Because it is a mistaken object, all these are mistaken characteristics, characteristics of elaboration, and characteristics of inversion. Although that appearance is also a non-veridical appearance due to the power of mental delusion, it is called a mistaken object because that non-veridical appearance itself appears as an object. In this way, however much this appearance is, that much is mistaken, because of seeing the non-veridical and not seeing the ultimate. Therefore, one who wishes to see the ultimate of all dharmas should rely on that Shamatha in the same way, and with the yoga of non-appearance, these manifest mistaken characteristics of appearance should be abandoned. For example, a meditator dwells alone in solitude, abides in meditation, completely transcends the perception of form, abides closely in all places with the perception of space, and dwells having perfected the sphere of infinite space. In the same way, this Bodhisattva should also abide in equanimity on the mere appearance of the various eighteen realms of mind, abandon all mental expressions, and abandon all these mistaken characteristics and all these characteristics of discrimination, such as: the appearances of bodies and trees, villages and cities, rivers and oceans, earth and sky, light and darkness, moon and sun, planets and stars.

There is nothing at all, and likewise there is no form, sound, smell, taste, or touch. There is no eye, ear, nose, tongue, or body sense. Likewise, there is no eye, ear, nose, tongue, or body consciousness, and there is no mind or dharma realm. Just as there are no realms, there are also no sources, aggregates, and up to the dharmas of the Buddhas. Thus, by abandoning the characteristics that are apprehended as the distinguishing marks of all phenomena, the characteristics of grasping that depend on them also disappear. Like the absence of impurity and limit in a single sky, the nature of all phenomena, the emptiness of two, is seen as merely clear. The mind that sees all phenomena appearing as emptiness should be gathered into itself and made unmoving. Until the body and mind are completely subdued, stillness should be manifested. Then, relying on that stillness, the object of that samadhi, the image of the emptiness of all phenomena, should be thoroughly distinguished. All these phenomena are neither associated nor unassociated, but are formless, unteachable, and unobstructed, such as the absence of characteristics being a single characteristic. The term "not associated" means that in the ultimate sense, it does not appear as existing in an indivisible single characteristic. The term "not unassociated" means that it does not appear as existing in different characteristics. However, the various characteristics themselves are merely the nature of discrimination, appearing in various ways that are not false. The term "empty of two in the ultimate sense" means that in the appearance of a common characteristic, it appears as one taste. Because the objects of discrimination of those ultimate natures have been transcended and cannot be measured by oneself, they are formless. Because they cannot be indicated to others by words, they are unteachable. Because they appear like the absence of impurity and limit in a single sky, they are unobstructed. Because they appear as the general characteristic of emptiness, they are of one characteristic. That is also their common characteristic, that is,
