Since it has no cause for destruction, if self-nature destruction does not exist, then why would another be born in another place? Therefore, it itself has moved to another place. In connection, for whatever does not have the destruction of the previous self-nature, obtaining another self-nature will not change, for example, like the hair of a tortoise. The object existing in another place also has no cause for destruction, therefore the previous self-nature does not perish. Since destruction and obtaining another self-nature both pervade birth, if that does not exist, then what is pervaded also does not exist. Therefore, those who say that the pervader is invisible, those who say it is not momentary, think like this. What is said here is thought like this. It is said here: the reason is not established, because like this, all conditioned things are self-destructive, therefore, since it is impossible to arise, the cause of destruction for it itself to move to another place does not exist. Why does it not exist? Therefore, it is said that mind and mental factors, etc., what is the cause of destruction? This means that it is only non-existence. Those minds and mental factors, in each moment, are self-destructive, others have committed themselves, therefore there is no need to strive to prove it. What is the cause of destruction for sound, etc., and flames, etc.? Connect it like this. When saying sound, etc., one should understand that it includes things like mind, etc., which are known as momentary. Like this, sound and flames, etc., also perish by themselves in each moment, other Vaisheshikas, etc., have committed themselves, therefore, like before, there is no need to strive to prove it. All these things, such as mind and mental factors, etc., because it has been established that they are momentary, should be known as examples. Similarly, for others also, it becomes non-existent, this should be known as establishing the actual meaning. Similarly, this is like mind and mental factors. For others also, this refers to pots, etc. Non-existent, this refers to the destruction of

The meaning of "ྒྱུ་" is like this. So, how is this understood? For mind and mental factors, etc., do they have the nature of destruction? Or, if we analyze so-called "non-destructive nature," etc., since there is no cause for destruction, it is not considered that destruction has a cause. Similarly, it is also explained that other things like form do not have a cause for destruction. The explanation is: whatever is conditioned does not depend on the cause of destruction. For example, mind and mental factors, etc., are like that. All things like vases are also conditioned, therefore, the generality of the inference is contradictory. Like this, the two, conditioned and unconditioned, are contradictory by the nature of existing mutually exclusive. Moreover, the unconditioned also universally has dependence on the cause of destruction. Therefore, when the unconditioned and the contradictory conditioned are observed, the unconditioned will disappear. If the cause of generality disappears, then what is universally contained by it, which depends on the cause of destruction, will also disappear. The teacher thus argues, and in order to explain that the examples of other things cannot be established, he said "their," etc. "Their" refers to mind and mental factors, etc. The so-called "own impermanence" means that which is possessed by oneself, which can destroy its own nature. Assuming that the cause of destruction of mind and mental factors, etc., does not exist externally, but they are destroyed because they themselves have impermanence. Therefore, when it is thought that this does not match the example to be established, the teacher uses phrases such as "Similarly, why not think that other things are also like this?" to show an overly absolute inference. "Similarly" means just as it is thought that the impermanence of mind and mental factors, etc., is the cause of destruction. "Other things" refers to vases, etc. "Other" refers to the external cause of destruction. "They do not have" refers to mind and mental factors, etc.

Therefore, it follows that other phenomena such as pots would also be nonexistent, which is an undesirable conclusion. Is it not logical to establish the thesis with a valid example? If you say it is too extreme, why mention untimely words? There is no fault in this, because through investigations such as, "Does the cause of destruction produce that itself, or does it produce something else?" Just as an external cause of destruction is impossible, impermanence is similar, because the refutation and investigation are the same. However, even if that is the case, we accept that the impermanence of mind and mental factors is the cause of destruction, not an external cause of destruction. Similarly, it would be the same for other things like pots, and the founder of the thesis made such an example thesis by means of establishing the extreme. Thus, the teacher established the extreme, and here, those who say it is not momentary, such as "if there is not," etc., to the external
