It is the very entry into non-difference; therefore. Furthermore, it is said, "Vipāka," etc. "The other" refers to the entering consciousness. "For the sake of complete taming" means for the sake of complete transformation. "That dharma-nature is also non-existent" refers to the dharma-nature of non-difference between the cause and effect just mentioned, or the dharma-nature of complete taming, which is non-existent, this is the concluding remark. By "seed," etc., it also shows the impossibility. "Seed and seed-possessor," where seed is the cause, and seed-possessor is the distinction of the fruit, because the seed exists from this. By "lotus root," etc., the teacher shows the existence. Having established existence, now, by "if," etc., it is established that the ālaya-vijñāna must be admitted. "Even if not seen, it is okay" refers to rice, etc. "If you do not think so" refers to the existence of another ālaya-vijñāna. "Among the faults as stated" refers to "who will grasp the body," etc. "Then why do I," etc., is speaking of not wanting others, if one thinks that apart from eye-consciousness, etc., there is another ālaya-vijñāna as the basis of those, then, since I and the ālaya-vijñāna are separate from eye-consciousness, etc., why not think that the inner agent, I, also becomes the basis of those? This is the concluding remark. By "how to think," etc., the teacher made different distinctions and then answered. "That" refers to the nature of self. "Like the ālaya-vijñāna," just as the ālaya-vijñāna is permanent, because it enters from one moment to another. It is also transformed by conditions, because those can generate others. What is the difference between that and that?

If the substance of the self is something like that, then it is no different from the ālaya-vijñāna. Therefore, it is the ālaya-vijñāna itself, and thus it would become proving what is already established. If "one" means without parts, and is eternally unchanging, then "if it is said" means, if one wants to be forever free from the changes of conditions. The "it" in that refers to the substance of the self. The mention of "with consciousness, etc." is to include desire, etc. Like this, if it is said, "Once, what reliance do the consciousnesses have on it?" etc., because the self is devoid of the function of both sequence and simultaneity, just like something that does not exist, it is to be proven that it is non-existent. However, having conceded, if it is unchanging, then how can the imposition of habits by consciousness, etc., be accomplished on such a thing? This is what is to be shown. Why is it not accomplished? Therefore, it is said, "Habits are," etc., the nature of habits is like this: for example, the imposer generates a difference in ability on the substance to be imposed upon, but the substance of the self is unchanging, therefore that is also impossible. If it is said that even if habits do not exist, what will happen? Therefore, it is said, "If there is no difference of complete change," etc., "If there is no difference of complete change" means that there is no difference in ability that is increasingly stronger. The "its habits do not exist" in that refers to the habits of consciousness, etc. The "former experiences, knowledge, and desires, etc." in that refers to, experiences, knowledge, and desires, etc., are experiences, knowledge, and desires, etc. They are also former because they occurred before, and are experiences, knowledge, and desires, etc., so they are former experiences, knowledge, and desires, etc. Therefore, for those former experiences, knowledge, and desires, etc., experience here refers to experiencing blue, etc. Knowledge refers to definite knowledge, etc.

Finished. The so-called "habit" means familiarity. The so-called "memory, knowledge, desire," etc., are combined in order with previous experiences, etc. Furthermore, it is also said, "When in a state of no-self," etc. If someone thinks that it arises from the self alone, therefore it is said, "If there is no difference in the self." Thus, temporarily admitting the self, and then pointing out the faults. Now, because of the lack of the ability to function, it is shown that its existence cannot be tolerated, so it is said, "What do the various consciousnesses rely on it for?" etc. The so-called "relying on it" is synonymous with "depending on me." Here, there are two distinctions: Does the self gradually act on the thing that relies on me, or does it act together? It is clear that it does not act together, because the result of relying on it together does not appear. However, it should be said that it acts gradually, and it should be distinguished whether the thing that relies on me is produced or exists? If someone says it is produced, then temporarily standing from the perspective of production, gradually refuting it, meaning that if the cause is not lacking, it is impossible to produce gradually. Others say that the cause is not without lack, for example, in order to produce the subsequent consciousnesses, I rely on other co-acting causes. Therefore, it is said, "If the co-acting cause." If it is said that it depends on the co-acting cause, then it is combined with "gradually produced." The "those" in it refers to the co-acting conditions. "For others" refers to me. "Producing it" refers to producing other consciousnesses. The meaning of "How to understand having the ability" is that it cannot be understood. Saying this, if help is needed, then how can I gradually arise because I rely on other co-acting causes, but not provide any help from the co-acting causes?
