It is said that it is up to the consciousness of mind. Some say that it is the consciousness of mind, which is to say that some who temporarily assert the existence of external objects say that at that time, because it is impossible for other consciousnesses to arise, only the consciousness of mind arises. However, with phrases such as "if," the master has explained that it is unreasonable. The meaning of phrases such as "completely assembled" is easy to understand. It is said that consciousness and feeling, etc., do not arise without each other. Therefore, if there is consciousness at that time, contact, etc., will inevitably arise. However, it has been shown that if those are not present, consciousness is also completely absent. The phrases such as "some say" are others answering that fault. What is said is that in showing dependent origination, etc., it is in the manner of craving arising from feeling. It is not all feeling, which is to say that, like this, for those who have exhausted defilements, all three types of feeling arise, but craving does not arise. Similarly, with phrases such as "thus," by indicating with examples, it is connecting the objects of meaning with it. This is how the Blessed One, with phrases such as "that," the master has definitively established the tenet. That refers to feeling. If asked how that is specially done, therefore he said phrases such as "because of ignorance," the contact that is associated with ignorance is the assembled contact of ignorance. What arises from that is said to be born from the assembled contact of ignorance. If others think that just as the Blessed One specially made the feeling from which craving arises, so too for the contact from which feeling, etc., arise, he also specially made it in some places, therefore he said phrases such as "contact is." Therefore, the phrases such as "therefore" are a conclusion. The phrases such as "some say" are others answering in other ways, saying that even if contact is not specially made anywhere,

However, (some) want to say that the perfect collection of the three that produce feeling, etc., is the unique and special thing. What is the special thing? That is, the collection of touch that arises after it, which is the one with ability. Because when refuting feeling, etc., how can there be touch if it is not there? Because it is not there, how can feeling, etc., exist? Therefore, what is to be expressed is that only consciousness remains. So, "that," etc., is because the teacher refutes (the above view), it is to make (people) fully accept the aspects of good, etc. So, what will become of that? This is because (someone) spoke without seeing the faults of others. If it is said to be good, then the teacher said these words. If someone thinks, do others not have non-attachment, etc.? Therefore, it was said that even if there are non-attachment, etc. If because there is no equal possession with non-attachment, etc., it becomes not good, then, that consciousness, because it is produced by the direct cause of the mind entering into the equipoise that prevents good, will it become good? If there is concern that this will be thought, that is not the case, the good, etc., was said. Because three kinds of minds arise after the good, the meaning of this sentence is this: after hearing the good, three kinds of good, etc., minds arise with others as the object. If because that direct cause is the power of good, it becomes good, then the two, non-good and unspecified, will also necessarily be there, but that is not what is desired. Therefore, it should not be thought that it is not good by the power of benefit, this is what is to be expressed. In order to show that there is also this fault, "by the power of the root of good," etc., was said. The power of the roots of good is the power of the roots of good, that is, the ability itself. By it, what is good itself? For the one who has the nature of good, abandons and produces it, that is what it is called. What is that? It is the mind. If that is the case, what will become of it? Therefore, that is an unacceptable reason.

It is said, "for the sake of." Its reversal is the reversal of virtue, which is to disappear. The cause of its reversal is the cause of its reversal. Its impermissibility is unreasonableness. It is said that if the immediately preceding condition, by the power of virtue, causes the mind that arises in the later time to become virtuous, then once virtue arises, as long as samsara exists, everything that arises in the future will become virtuous, and both non-virtue and the unindicated will disappear. This is what is to be explained. That would be too much for non-virtue as well. This is called comparing the starting point, just as virtue itself is unreasonable, so non-virtue is also unreasonable according to the reason just stated. This is the conclusion. If others think that if the virtue and non-virtue of the mind of cessation are unreasonable, then how can absorption be virtuous? Therefore, it is said that the absorption of cessation, etc. Like cessation, just as liberation is the characteristic of all suffering being pacified, therefore it is called virtue, but because it is the nature of non-entity, it is not real. Similarly, the absorption of cessation is also temporarily pacified, therefore it is virtuous, but it is not real. This is the conclusion. If it becomes neither virtuous nor non-virtuous, then one might think that it would become obscured and unindicated. If one is worried about thinking so, then it is said, "If it is afflicted," etc. The Sutra of Ten Questions is so called because the sutra from which the ten questions arise is the Sutra of Ten Questions, which is the conclusion indicated by it. Furthermore, with the absorption without perception, etc., it is shown that there are other faults as well. If others think that if it is not afflicted, then it will become unobscured and unindicated. If one is worried about thinking so, then it is said, "However," etc., because there are four possibilities in that case as well. If it is born from maturation, etc., then one speculates. What will happen from that?
