Furthermore, it is not appropriate to take as proximate cause. Considering the aspect of lineage, some say that the common yellowness or sharpness is not of lineage. The common yellowness or sharpness with the Brahmin boy is not present in the lineage of fire, because other lineages do not desire to be yellow or sharp. Thus, these qualities are considered to be of substance, not of lineage. In this case, it will change here, even without a common dharma, it will become a proximate cause of lineage. Therefore, it is said that there is no common dharma, etc. Without a common dharma, it is not appropriate to take the Brahmin boy as a proximate cause of lineage. If someone asks why it is not appropriate, it is said that it will be too extreme. If even without a common dharma, it is taken as a proximate cause, then at that time everything will become a proximate cause of everything. That is to say, similarity is the basis of proximate cause. If even without similarity, it is taken as a proximate cause, then at that time, because there is no certainty, everything will be too extreme, which will be proven. In order to avoid someone saying that something else is the basis of proximate cause, it is said that even if the nature of the lineage does not possess those two, etc. Even if the lineage is not the dharma of sharpness, etc., if sharpness and yellowness are not present in the lineage of fire, then it does not exist. Therefore, if sharpness and yellowness do not exist in the lineage, the Brahmin boy will become a proximate cause of the lineage of fire. That is to say, even if there is no common dharma, if fire does not arise without it, this is the cause of proximate cause here, therefore it will not be too extreme, which will be proven. Regarding "even if it does not possess those two natures," sharpness and yellowness are the two dharmas. Whatever lineage it is, it possesses those two dharmas. Its object is its nature. Not possessing those two natures is not possessing those two natures. Therefore, not possessing those two natures means that the lineage does not have the dharma of sharpness and yellowness, which is a synonym. In order to show that the situation of not arising without it does not exist here,

It was also said, "Because sharpness and yellowness are seen in the Brahmin boy even without the nature of fire," and so on. Like this, sharpness and yellowness appear in the Brahmin boy even without the nature of fire. Therefore, it is unreasonable that those two things that do not arise without (fire nature) are also unreasonable. Like this, the Brahmin boy does not have the nature of fire, but he has sharpness and yellowness. Then, how can these two things arise without the nature of fire? Because of the fear of making the same mistake for a hundred things, if it is thought that the Brahmin boy also has those two things that do not arise without (fire nature), then therefore, it was said, "There is no need to posit that fire does not arise without (fire nature)." If it is thought that the Brahmin boy also has sharpness and yellowness, even if there is no nature, it will not arise, then at that time, one should not establish a nature for the Brahmin boy. Why? It was said, "Like fire," and so on. Just as fire itself actually has the nature of fire, if the Brahmin boy also has (the nature of fire), then why is it necessary to establish it? This is to say that if it is thought that the Brahmin boy also has sharpness and yellowness, even if there is no nature, it will not arise, then at that time, it is equal to admitting that he himself has these qualities. Therefore, since it already exists, why is it necessary to establish it? This shows that it is unreasonable to establish a certain quality for something that does not have that quality. In this way, in order to eliminate the basis of establishment and draw a conclusion, it was said, "Therefore, it is not possible to establish a nature for the Brahmin boy." Like this, the basis of establishment, both of these ways are unreasonable for nature, therefore, it is impossible to establish a nature for the Brahmin boy. If someone thinks that even if nature cannot be established, substance can be established, then therefore, it was said, "Substance cannot be established either." It is impossible to establish the substance of fire in the Brahmin boy. Why? It was said, "Because there is no common dharma." Like this, there is no common dharma between fire and the Brahmin boy. If someone asks: Are there not two common qualities, sharpness and yellowness? The answer is: I am saying that there is no common dharma.
