That which arises from the mind's disturbance due to being unable to bear the prosperity of others is jealousy. In order to show the establishment of its form, it is said, "Due to the universal disturbance in one's own position, there is disturbance in the mind," which is easy to understand, so it is not explained. In order to show its function, it is said, "displeasure," etc., because it is equal to happiness, and because displeasure comes first, it cannot abide, therefore it is called having two functions. If you ask what is stinginess, it is said, "Stinginess is," etc., whatever is the mind's clinging that does not conform to giving, that is stinginess. In order to show giving, it is said, "The things that are held," etc., whether it is to cut off the ownership of things of Dharma, wealth, and the wise, or for the sake of benefit, whether wanting or not wanting, giving is giving. If you ask how it is considered not conforming to giving, it is said, "If it exists, giving will not exist," etc. Like this, if stinginess exists, giving will not exist, therefore it is said that it does not conform to giving. In order to give another explanation for this, it is said, "Attachment to gain and respect," etc., whatever is the mind's clinging to gain and respect or the necessities of life, etc., which belong to the category of desire, and the nature of wanting to not completely let go, that is stinginess. In order to show its function, it is said, "It is," etc. In order to dispel it, it is said, "Not reducing utensils is," etc., whatever is the excess of unnecessary utensils, due to stinginess, etc., that is what is meant here by "not reducing utensils." If you ask what is deceit, it is said, "Deceit is," etc. In order to dispel it, it is said, "Due to particularly clinging to gain and respect," etc., due to particularly clinging to gain, thinking that others can be deceived, with this thought, for those who abide in other aspects such as discipline and lineage, but show in other aspects, this is deceit, which means deception. In order to show this hypothetical existence, this is related to desire and igno

It is said, "By the accumulation of ignorance," and so on. Thus, the accumulation of attachment and ignorance reveals untrue qualities, and therefore it is attributed to the accumulation of these two. Therefore, like anger and so on, it exists only as an imputation, not as a substance. To show its function, it is said, "Having the function of relying on wrong livelihood," its function is the deceit of wrong livelihood. If one wonders what deception is, it is said, "Deception is," and so on, whatever is a means of concealing one's own faults, whatever is a deceitful mind belonging to that, that is deception. If one wonders what the means is, it is said, "The means of concealing one's own faults is," and so on, whatever is the way of confusing others, that is the means of concealing one's own faults. If one wonders why one confuses others, it is said, "That is, transforming from one place to another," and so on, whatever is transforming from one place to another, transmitting words, and not making clear, that is confusing others. Transforming from one place to another is a synonym for answering with another when asked. Transmitting words means transferring the words elsewhere. Not making clear means speaking in a mumbling way, "I did it." This shows that no matter what is asked, one does not speak of one's own faults, nor does one speak clearly. To show the difference between concealment and this, it is said, "Therefore," and so on. Thus, deception is transmitting words and not making clear, but it is not completely concealing, therefore it is different from concealment. Concealment is like this, clearly concealing, but not by means. "Not indirectly" is a synonym for not by means. To show its imputed existence, it is said, "This," and so on, because one is particularly attached to gain and respect, in order to conceal the faults of attachment and ignorance, one confuses others, so it is attributed to the accumulation of these two. To show its function, it is said, "This," and so on. To dispel it.
