If the seeds of afflictive dharmas are extinguished, one becomes exceedingly pliable. Therefore, that is also a bad state. When one wonders what bodily pliancy is, one speaks of "bodily pliancy is" and so on. That which arises from the body's ability to fulfill its own needs and is light is called bodily pliancy. Lightness means happiness. In order to show mental pliancy, one speaks of "mental pliancy is" and so on. The calmness and lightness of the mind of a yogi who has entered into proper attention, and whatever other dharma arises from the mind, that is mental pliancy. Calmness is happiness, lightness is clarity. When one asks why, one speaks of "if one is endowed with it" and so on. Thus, if one is endowed with that which arises from the mind, the mind will focus on the object, therefore, that is called mental pliancy. Here, if other dharmas arising from the mind are exceedingly pliable, then how should one speak of bodily pliancy? One speaks of "the distinction of bodily touch" and so on. One should make the body exceedingly pliable when some distinction of bodily touch is seized by joy. When one asks why, one speaks of "if the mind is joyful, the body will become exceedingly pliable" and so on. Thus, when the mind becomes joyful, the body will become exceedingly pliable, as the sutra says. In order to show the karma of this, one speaks of "this depends on it" and so on. Thus, one transforms the basis by relying on exceeding pliancy, therefore, the karma of this is to completely eliminate the obscurations of afflictions. In order to refute "endowed with mindfulness," one speaks of "endowed with mindfulness is" and so on, but it is not explained because it is easy to understand. Since one cannot know the nature of this merely through conceptual establishment, one asks, "What is it then?" Those who assert established tenets say "equanimity," and equanimity here is considered a synonym for being endowed with mindfulness. In order for others to ask for a reason, one speaks of "Why is that?" and in order for those who assert established tenets to show the reason, one speaks of "completely virtuous" and so on. Thus, equanimity is completely virtuous.

, here taking the example of showing all the virtuous dharmas arising from the mind, just as faith and so on are not directly shown here, because apart from the eleven virtuous dharmas arising from the mind, it is impossible for other virtuous dharmas to arise. Therefore, what remains is equanimity, expressed in terms of carefulness and so on. That is to say, if the eleven virtuous dharmas belonging to equanimity exist, then ten of them have already been explained in the manner starting from "ra," and equanimity is indicated here by its own name. Therefore, it will be explained that it itself is expressed here in terms of carefulness and so on. If someone wonders what carefulness is, it is said that carefulness is the antidote to carelessness. In order to clarify this, from non-attachment to diligence is carefulness, and so on. That is, abiding in non-attachment and so on, abandoning non-virtuous dharmas, becoming the antidote to non-virtuous dharmas, and cultivating virtuous dharmas, these non-attachments and so on are called carefulness. Therefore, this itself is the antidote to carelessness. In this way, it is the reversal from carelessness, that is, it speaks of its reversal. In order to show the function, it is said "it is" and so on. Its function is to completely accomplish all the perfect qualities of worldly and transworldly realms. If someone wonders what equanimity is, it is said that equanimity is the equality of mind and so on. That is, being free from sinking and excitement, what is the equality of mind, where the mind naturally abides without needing to strive, the antidote to sinking and excitement, extreme joy and complete weariness, not striving to think about them, the state where the mind is naturally accomplished is equanimity. If someone wonders why so many words are needed, it is said using these three words and so on. Because it is easy to understand, it is not explained. If someone wonders what the equality of mind is, it is said that sinking and excitement are the inequality of mind and so on. That is, when the mind becomes sinking or excited, it is called inequality. When there is no sinking and excitement,
