What is concentration? It is one-pointedness of mind. To explain its function, it is said, "It has the function of being the basis of knowledge." Its function is to approach the object that is the cause of knowledge. In this way, if the mind can abide equally, it will be able to fully understand as it is. Someone wonders what "wisdom" is, so it is said, "Wisdom is superior wisdom." To dispel this thought, it is said, "That is also the object of investigation itself," and so on. For the object of investigation itself, that which is produced by reason, and that which is not produced by reason, and the complete discrimination of others, that is wisdom. To establish discrimination, it is said, "Because it completely discriminates," and so on. To explain the meaning of complete discrimination, it is said, "The characteristics of self and commonality laws that are mixed together," and so on. For the laws that are mixed with the characteristics of self and commonality, the separate recognition of whether it is correct or incorrect, that is complete discrimination. Someone wonders what is produced by reason, so it is said, "'Pa' is pure," and so on. Reason is expressed in the sound of purity. To explain its classification, it is said, "That is also a credible scripture," and so on. Because it is easy to understand, it is not explained. To explain the meaning of production, it is said, "With those three kinds of reason," and so on. For the object of investigation, that which is produced by complete discrimination is called produced by reason. To explain its classification, it is said, "That is also produced from hearing," and so on. Because it is easy to understand, it is not explained. To explain the nature of what arises from hearing, etc., it is said, "For it, the credible scriptures," and so on. Whatever arises from the understanding of what is contained in the credible measure is said to arise from hearing. Whatever arises from the understanding of what is contained in the understanding of reason is said to arise from thinking. Whatever is produced by the power of samadhi is said to arise from meditation. A person who has become a measure is credible. Definite thinking is the explanation of the irrational classification of behavior.

Therefore, the words "non-reasoning" and so on have been spoken. The samadhi that is included in what is not true is called wrong thought. The rest is not explained because it is easy to understand. In order to show the meaning of arising, the words "arising non-reasoning" and so on have been spoken. That meaning is only a phrase. In order to show the third aspect, the words "obtained by birth" and so on have been spoken. That is, whatever understands the reality of innate wisdom, and whatever understands worldly terms such as buying and selling, is neither produced by reason nor not produced by reason. "Obtained by birth" means obtained from birth, so it is called obtained by birth. Because it exists in this, it is called obtained by birth, which is another name for being born together. "Arising" means between creating and doing. In order to show the function of this, the words "this is" and so on have been spoken. The function of this is to dispel doubts. In this way, wisdom can well distinguish all dharmas and obtain certainty. Having obtained certainty, it can dispel doubts. Do these arise simultaneously? Or do they arise separately? Thinking of this, the words "those five dharmas" and so on have been spoken. That is, those five dharmas arise mutually separately, which is another name for not being born together. In this way, if the mind has faith in something, then the others will certainly not arise. Likewise, it should also be said of the others. By saying thinking, deciding, familiarizing, and observing, it is to show that the objects of these are determined separately. In this way, there is no desire for what has not been thought. There is no faith in what is not certain. There is no memory for what has not been familiarized. There is no samadhi and wisdom for what has not been observed. Some say that this sentence is interpreted differently, saying that those five dharmas arise non-mutually separately. In this way, if faith arises in something, then the others will also certainly arise, thus making a reversed interpretation. In this way, it is said that when desire arises for a future object, then there is no memory of it, because its object is experience. At what time not
