This is a concluding remark. Just like this, on the worldly path, one desires to generate aversion with afflictions. Why doesn't it arise on the path beyond the world? Thinking this, it is said, "Seeing no-self," and so on. Just like this, seeing no-self is the antidote to clinging to self. Therefore, on the path beyond the world, one cannot generate aversion with afflictions. Because opposing factors and antidotes do not arise simultaneously. Therefore, since opposing factors and antidotes do not arise simultaneously, on the path beyond the world, at that time, aversion with afflictions does not arise. When one arises from the path beyond the world, it also arises from the aspect of the alaya consciousness. To conclude, it is said, "This is the second transformation," and so on. This is a concluding remark, meaning that what was said above has been explained. Third fascicle. To show the combination with the third transformation, it is said, "After the second transformation," and so on. Because it is easy to understand, it is not explained. Thinking about what that is, it is said, "The third is the six kinds of objects," and so on. In short, whatever is directed towards the six kinds of objects is the third transformation of consciousness. This is a concluding remark. Third fascicle. In the third transformation, it is said, "Transformation of consciousness," and so on. This is a concluding remark, meaning to bring forth the sound of the transformation of consciousness from within. Because understanding the meaning of words precedes understanding the meaning of language, in order to show the meaning of words, it is said, "Six kinds," and so on. Because it is easy to understand, it is not explained. It is also said, "That also," and so on, which is asking for a detailed classification of this. In order to show the detailed classification spoken by the proponents of tenets, it is said, "Neither virtuous nor non-virtuous." To refute it, it is said, "Virtuous and non-virtuous," and so on. Saying that it is neither, refers to what is not shown in the scriptures. The rest is not explained because it is easy to understand. To show the nature of virtue, etc., it is said, "Non-attachment, non-hatred, and non-ignorance," and so on. Because it is easy to understand, it is also not explained. The nature of mental factors

Doubting about its nature and number, one asks "How does that arise from the mind?" etc. To eliminate the two doubts, "universally occurring" etc. is mentioned. In short, it is said that it exists similarly to the universally occurring etc. Regarding the universally occurring etc., again, because others doubt and ask, "What is universally occurring?" etc. is said, but it is not explained because it is easy to understand. To make the proponent fully display it, "the first touch etc." is said. Touch etc. are considered here as universally occurring. Someone might think, why are the universally occurring mentioned first? So it is said, "Because it is mentioned first, it is the first." To refute that, it is said like this, "universally occurring" etc. Thus, the universally occurring etc. have already been shown first in the immediately preceding verse, therefore it is called the first. Those who explain that touch etc. are the first are speaking very irrelevantly, because in the immediately preceding verse, what was shown first was the universally occurring, not touch etc. To summarize the words touch etc. here, it is said, "What is the first of them, the touch?" etc., the meaning of which is just expression. Someone might think, why are they called universally occurring? So it is said, "The five dharmas, touch and attention etc." Thus, all of touch etc. follow all sentient beings, therefore they are called universally occurring. Someone might think, how is it known? So it is said, "Thus, they are the alaya-consciousness" etc. Thus, they arise in the alaya-consciousness, the afflicted mind, and the entering consciousness, therefore it is proven that they follow all sentient beings. The phrase "From the perspective of specific determination" shows the connection with the verse. "Desire, aspiration, mindfulness with" etc. show specific determination, desire etc.
