The term "Laga" indicates the aspect of complete accomplishment. How do these focus on the Alaya consciousness? In response, it is said, "If one is ignorant of the self-nature of the Alaya consciousness," and so on. That is, whoever does not understand the self-nature of the Alaya consciousness, such as impermanence, etc., will grasp at it, thinking, "This is my self." Whatever is not understood is ignorance of the self. Whatever is grasped as the self is the view of the perishable aggregate. After the view of the self, due to the power of Dharma-nature, pride arises in the mind, thinking, "I am," which is self-conceit. If these three, such as ignorance of the self, exist, then afterwards, intense attachment to the object thought of as the self arises, which is self-love. To summarize the meaning already explained, the verse is spoken, i.e., "already spoken and spoken again," and so on. Whatever mind is characterized by the thought of self is completely defiled by the four afflictions, such as ignorance. This is the meaning of the verse. "Completely defiled" means making it impure. In order to show by reasoning that the afflicted mind exists through the next verse, it is said, "also the cause of inversion," and so on. That is, the afflicted mind is always the cause of inversion, therefore its existence must be understood. If asked, what is the cause of inversion? It is said, "When the mind is good and not explained," and so on. At the time of a virtuous mind, at the time of self-grasping, for example, thinking, "I am giving alms," and so on. At the time of an unexplained mind, the cause of self-grasping is thinking, "I am transcribing scriptures," and so on. Therefore, it shows the cause of inverting the non-self Alaya consciousness as the self. In order to connect with the verse, it is said, "Also the afflictions such as ignorance of the self," and so on. The nine grounds here should be understood as the desire realm, the four dhyanas, and the four formless realms. The rest is not explained because it is easy to understand. Doubt

For the sake of non-regression, it is said, "Wherever one is born, that is where it is." For the sake of liberation, it is said, "Wherever one is born," etc. In whatever realm and whatever place sentient beings are born, the view of the aggregates of that realm and that place itself is in accordance with them, not of other realms and other places. For the sake of summarizing and combining, it is said, "Is it in accordance with the four afflictions themselves?" etc., but it is not explained because it is easy to understand. Because it is explaining, it is said, "It is not said," etc. For the sake of liberating that, it is said, "Other touches, etc., also," etc., but it is not explained because it is easy to understand. Because of "also," etc., it shows the meaning of the word "also," therefore, the afflicted mind's view of self, etc., is not merely in accordance with a small part, but also in accordance with other touches, etc., thus it will be shown. Because of "touch, etc.," it shows the meaning of the word "touch," etc. If one thinks, why are touches, etc., naturally in accordance, it is said, "Those five dharmas," etc., because one wants these five dharmas of touch, etc., to go everywhere, therefore they are in accordance with all consciousnesses. In order to clearly indicate the realm and place of these, it is said, "Those also," etc., that meaning is just words. In order to make another explanation here, it is said, "Or other," etc., in order to distinguish from the touches, etc., that are in accordance with the root consciousness, it is said, "Other touches, etc.," etc., like this, for the root consciousness, one wants the touches, etc., not to be obscured and not to be specified. For the afflicted mind, it is obscured as desired and not specified. For the sake of summarizing and combining, it is said, "If that afflicted mind," etc. If the afflicted mind operates without distinction at all times of virtue, affliction, and non-specification, then it will become irreversible, and as long as it does not reverse,

How can one be liberated now? Therefore, it is thought that all beings will not be liberated. To this, some proponents of philosophical tenets say that they will not be liberated, and so on. It is not that they will not be liberated, for example, an Arhat does not have an afflicted mind, it is not present during the time of cessation, and it is not present on the supramundane path. Why is it thought that an Arhat does not have it? It is said that an Arhat is, and so on. For example, an Arhat has abandoned all afflictions, therefore, there is no afflicted mind. Just as the afflictions of the peak of existence are to be abandoned by cultivating the nine aspects, when one attains Arhatship, they are abandoned by the diamond-like unobstructed path, in the same way, the afflicted mind is also completely abandoned by that very unobstructed path. Therefore, just as those afflictions are not present in an Arhat, this is also not present. Why is it thought that a Non-Returner does not have it? It is said that they are free from attachment to the sphere of nothingness, and so on. A Non-Returner who is free from attachment to the sphere of nothingness, who has attained cessation, does not have an afflicted mind during the time of cessation. For example, they attain cessation through the power of the path, therefore, repeatedly there, it is only not present at that time. Then, if they arise, from where does it arise? It is said that after arising from cessation, again, and so on. When one arises from cessation, it arises from the alaya-consciousness, because there are its latent seeds there. To show that it is not present on the path, it is said that it is also not present on the supramundane path. Its meaning has already been explained. Is it not sufficient to say 'path'? It is thought that 'supramundane' is said, 'supramundane' is said to distinguish it from the mundane path. This is easy to understand, so it was not said. Why is it necessary to distinguish the mundane path? It is said that the mundane path has, and so on. The word 'ni' is like this.
