If there is no distinction, is it the case that what is extensively spoken of as the twelve sources, surpassing sound, abides in that very state? If one cannot respond to that, then it is extensively stated, 'If that is the case, then the manifestation of one source of form from many forms is for the sake of clearly showing the connection.' How is it that it clearly shows the connection? By means of the function of the six faculties, starting from the eye and so forth up to the mind faculty, from the eye and so forth up to the body faculty, the object of this faculty is form and so forth up to touch; only these, not others, thus establishing a definite connection between the subject and the object, is for the sake of clearly showing it. The five pairs, eye and form are one pair, up to body and touch, this is the fifth pair. The mind faculty of this very faculty. The object is this, which is dharma, namely the seven, such as feeling. Not of others, namely the eye and so forth. The sixth pair is mind and dharma. The five faculties and so forth, namely from the eye and so forth up to the body faculty. Only the six faculties, it is the object of the mind faculty, not of others, so is the certainty of the sixth pair also not impaired? If that is the case, this is also not acceptable, then there is another answer to the extensively spoken 'which faculty alone'. That is said thus, the mind faculty, which faculty alone has which object alone, which feelings and so forth are not the basis. The basis of those equally possessing feelings and so forth is only the mind, because that is the immediately preceding condition. Feelings and so forth arising from the mind are not. In that case, the sixth pair should be established. Thus, they are not only the object of the mind, but also the basis, how should one know that they are also the basis of the mind? Because the mind is the nature of the six aggregates of consciousness. Among them, which of the five aggregates of consciousness, such as eye consciousness, are the nature of the mind

Those which are their own support are these five, namely the eye and so on. The summarizing verse is: The root of this meaning, which is the eye and so on, that meaning is form and so on, thus the two five aggregates. What is the meaning of 'which'? It is the root of the mind. What is the meaning of 'what'? It is feeling and so on, the sixth of the two aggregates. Because it is said considering its continuity, that means, the continuity of consciousness is a continuum, so it is its continuity. Considering its continuity, that is, speaking with consideration in mind, is speaking considering its continuity, so it is for this reason. Like a shadow and a burning flame walking, that means, just as a shadow walks, a flame burns and walks, showing that it is achieved through its continuity, showing that there is no fault, it is the same as that. There also, there is no contradiction because of different ideas, that statement appears in detail. Different ideas are different ideas, therefore there is no contradiction because of different ideas. How is it done? Regarding the two aspects of complete affliction and complete purification, the aspect of complete affliction and the aspect of complete purification, in short, it is considered that cause and effect are inverted and not inverted. For the aspect of complete affliction, suffering that is not inverted is the result. Accumulation that is not inverted is not the cause of that result. For the aspect of complete purification, cessation that is not inverted is the result. The path that is not inverted is the cause of that result. Thus, it is said in the four truths because it is considered that it is not inverted. The Brahmins of names, that statement appears in detail. The Brahmins of names are offerings, sacrifices, fire offerings, and so on. In the case of the cause of manifestation of superiority, it refers to the case of the cause of manifestation of superiority. Regarding karma and the fruit of karma, and considering from the perspective that I am its owner, it is considering from the perspective of karma. Intentionally, and considering from the perspective of the fruit, and I am its owner, it is considering from the perspective of the owner of the fruit.

Therefore, the three truths of the Brahmins are established as such. What are the three? In order, for sacrifices and the like, saying that cattle and other sentient beings should be slaughtered, this is from the perspective of karma, establishing the first truth of the Brahmins. Saying that one can attain a permanent world, this is from the perspective of the result, establishing the second truth of the Brahmins. The result of that is obtained by me, and I enjoy the result of that, this is established from the perspective of the third truth of the Brahmins. However, this is false for the true Brahmin learners and non-learners. Because the opposite is true, considering this, the three truths of the Brahmins are proclaimed. How so? In detail, the Brahmins and wanderers say, "All sentient beings should not be killed," this is the truth, not a lie, this is widely circulated. Not mistaken is not confused. For example, the step crossed with two feet is called a "footstep," because one crosses from here, so it is a footstep. Because the sound of crossing is not manifest. Similarly, the step crossed by a boat is called the boat's footstep. Similarly, what is understood by conventional truth is the truth of conventional truth, because the sound of understanding is not manifest. The scriptures extensively say "teachers" and so on, referring to the various sects of the teachers Kapila and owls and other heretics, considering the establishment of their various sects, meaning considering in the mind, there is only one truth, there is no second, that is what is said. Why? Because in this way, two contradictory truths cannot say "this is the truth." Therefore, in that, there is the cause of those two, meaning in the continuum of aggregates, there are the minds of those two, etc. It is not said that considering the cause-maker of the nature of the collection of causes, one cannot see the maker. Because in this way
