It is said, "The earth will change." In the Sutra of Seven Suns Appearing, it says, "Monks, in the past there was a teacher named Good Eyes." What is the connection of this passage? It is quoted from the Jataka of Good Eyes. This is the first way to connect the preceding and following meanings. Furthermore, in the Sutra of Seven Suns Appearing, it says, "Unless one sees the root, who will believe? Who will trust?" Then it says, "Unless one sees the truth." Then it says, "Monks, in the past there was a teacher named Good Eyes." What is the connection of this passage? It is connecting the Jataka of the teacher Good Eyes. This is the way to connect the preceding and following meanings, and the first one has been explained. The so-called connecting the order of before and after, the objects of before and after are the before and after themselves. The order of before and after themselves is the order of before and after themselves. Connecting this order is connecting the order of before and after themselves. Similarly, in the three trainings, there are also the training of higher morality, the training of higher mind, and the training of higher wisdom. Since the nature of morality, concentration, and wisdom is like this, why are concentration and wisdom taught after morality? Teaching concentration after morality is because there are the training of higher morality and the training of higher mind. Teaching wisdom after concentration is because there are the training of higher mind and the training of higher wisdom. Now, the way to connect the order of before and after will be explained, for example, these fragments of sutras: "Monks, understanding the seal of the noble Dharma..." How should one understand the connection of these extensive explanations? The meaning is that in the phrase "at that time also," there is a detailed explanation. Because it is to fully show the greatness and difficulty of obtaining the meaning.

For and, for the sake of fully showing that it is difficult to obtain. For the sake of fully showing impermanence itself, for the sake of fully showing that it is of great significance, this sutra speaks extensively, monks, I will now explain to the hearers the most ultimate Dharma, the most immaculate, the ultimate in pure conduct. For the sake of fully showing that it is difficult to obtain, it is because what was not said before is now said. For the sake of practicing properly on the former and former, it is because of fully realizing on the former and former as well, this is its synonym. Saying it like that is because of realizing it like that, this is its synonym. Perfection is the meaning of vastness. Although the three trainings have been shown with ten causes, the order of showing concentration and wisdom under morality and concentration is like this, if one has morality, the mind will be equally settled, this is the meaning of vastness, that is good. Among the ten causes, the cause of the three kinds of restraint and diligence is itself, from the cause and the thing being, to the cause of the arising of the two, and also the equal abiding and liberation, between these is the tenth cause. In order to truly restrain the immoral precepts, this is the first restraint and diligence. Saying that its cause is itself is the training of higher morality, which should be applied to everything. In order to truly restrain the object, this is the second, its cause itself is the training of higher mind. In order to truly restrain afflictions, this is the third, its cause itself is the training of higher wisdom. Truly taking up abandonment is the abandonment of impure conduct, truly taking up what is, its cause itself is the training of higher morality. That intermediate abandonment is impure conduct in that intermediate time, that is, at that time, slightly abandoning, its cause itself is shown to be the training of higher mind. That permanent abandonment is impure conduct, that permanent abandonment. Saying that its cause itself is the training of higher wisdom.

Pa'o. From the perspective of counteracting the three types of afflictions, these three trainings are in the same order as they are. The counteractions for bad destinies and good destinies, those with harm and those without harm, are also present. This means the counteraction for animals, as well as the counteraction for good destinies with harm, and the counteraction for good destinies without harm, these three trainings are in the same order as they are. The counteractions for black, leading, and white are also present. This means the counteraction for black karma, the counteraction for leading karma, and the counteraction for white karma, these three trainings are in the same order as they are. Other than that, maturing in the desire realm, called: sentient beings, hell, other than that, the desire realm is other than that desire realm. Maturing there, therefore, other than that, maturing in the desire realm. Its very antidote is, called extensively explaining, the very antidote to those three afflictions is the three trainings. If asked, how is it? It is in the manner of uprooting the poisonous tree and, cutting and digging out. Becoming the antidote to the first stage of suppression is in the manner of uprooting the poisonous tree. Becoming the antidote to the second stage of pervasive movement is in the manner of cutting. Becoming the antidote to the third stage of latent tendencies is in the manner of digging out. The counteractions for sin, desire, and violent conduct are also present, called extensively explaining, sinful conduct and, desire conduct and, violent conduct. A renunciate should not rely on the two extremes, should not practice. Not relying means, regarding desires, whatever is the combination of enjoying the pleasures of desire, and whatever is the combination of dwelling in self-torment. Among them, the antidote to sinful conduct is higher discipline training. Having made the enjoyment of the pleasures of desire the domain of the extreme, the antidote to desire conduct is higher mind training. Having made dwelling in self-torment the domain of combination, the antidote to violent conduct
