That which is called "pure" is what the non-Buddhists possess. Commitment is a synonym for attachment. Furthermore, there are two types of views of self: the basis being the same and the basis being different, in that order. Among these, the view of self with the basis being the same is to grasp the characteristic of the aggregates of appropriation as being non-different, thinking, "This is me." The view of self with the basis being different is to grasp any one of the form, etc., thinking, "This is my self." The two corresponding cravings are the craving that corresponds to the aspect of "mine," and the craving that corresponds to the aspects of the two views of self, which is a synonym for grasping. The corresponding craving is also the attachment that follows after looking at the aspects of self and "mine." Furthermore, with the pride of "I am" and the two views of self, and the word "and" is explained in detail, that is, with the pride of "I am," one thinks, "This is me," and with the view of self, one thinks, "This is my self" and "This is mine," which is the first name of the aspect of "mine," and because it has been clearly promised, it is a commitment. The two corresponding cravings are the correspondence to the pride of "I am," the correspondence to the view of self, and the correspondence to the first name of "mine," and because one is attached to it, it is grasping. All of this is explained in detail, from "This is mine" to "grasping at the place of commitment," is called "mine." Why? Because of its aspect and its cause. Its aspect is the aspect of "mine," that is, this statement, "This is mine." Its cause is also the cause of the aspect of "mine," that is, these two statements, "This is me, this is mine." Asked: How is it its cause? That is, do these two make it "mine"? If there is an aspect of "mine," then I

Therefore, the form of attachment will undoubtedly arise. In short, the so-called "in short" is an extensive explanation, that is, in short, this passage of scripture fully shows that, for the individual consciousness of children, the false clinging to self and the false clinging to craving are both related to karma. Among them, karma can be understood by the two words "sweeping and hiding." Regarding the false clinging to self itself, abandon the word "grasping" and use the five words such as "regarded as one's own" and "this is mine" to understand. False clinging to craving can also be understood by the word "grasping." Because it is the false clinging to self itself, it is the false clinging to self. Similarly, because it is the false clinging to craving itself, it is the false clinging to craving. For the time being, the summary meaning of the first case is like this. The second case is the complete display of false clinging to self, as well as pride and false clinging to craving. How is it done? For the time being, the complete display of false clinging to self is related to karma, just like before, abandoning the two words "grasping" and "this is me." Pride is related to karma, also using the word "this is me." False clinging to craving is related to karma, also the same as before. The Bhagavan gave an example, for example, in a place not far from a village or town, there is a pit full of ashes without flames or smoke, and then a person comes who is not of childish nature, not of ignorant nature, but of wise nature, desiring happiness, disliking suffering, desiring to live, unwilling to die, disliking death, he thinks, if I fall into this pit full of ashes without flames or smoke, I will die, or just approaching death will feel pain, so he thinks of staying away from it, and strives to stay away, and separately observes staying away, and then feels at ease. The scripture passage says that just like the pit of ashes, desires are also spoken of in the same way.

Yes. 'To focus the mind by examining individually' means a synonym for 'to direct the mind by examining with wisdom.' How to pursue meaning and generate attention shows that it arises extensively in the manner of the nature of merit. For example, just as one reacts to the delicious or spicy taste of medicine, one naturally seeks the delicious taste of medicine, while for the spicy taste, one examines it separately and focuses the mind on it, and concentrates on it. Monks, monks are also knowledgeable about the Dharma. How is it known? Here, a monk's knowledge of the Dharma is as follows: the Sutra section, the section of verses, the section of prophecies, the section of verses, the section of self-utterances, the section of narratives, the section of realizations, the section of such occurrences, the section of Jataka tales, the section of extensive teachings, the section of wonderful Dharmas, and the section of definitive teachings are the parts of the Sutra section. The meaning of which is briefly discussed, is called the Sutra section, whether spoken by the Buddha or by the Shravakas, whether the meaning is explained in detail or not, it is called the Sutra section in the sense of briefly discussing the meaning in external characteristics. That which is briefly stated and later sung in verses is called the section of verses, that is, the part of the Sutra section itself that is sung in verses is called the section of verses. For example, after explaining in detail in the Sigalovada Sutra, it says, "Alas! Monks, this son of a good family shaves his hair and beard, puts on saffron robes, and goes forth from home to homelessness solely with true faith, and for the things seen, the defilements are exhausted, without defilements, the liberation of mind and the liberation of wisdom, having realized it with his own direct knowledge, having perfected it, and says that my birth is exhausted, the Brahmachariya has been lived, what had to be done has been done, there is no other existence after this." Both of these are beautiful. The Blessed One spoke thus and then said this. Then the Teacher spoke again like this.
