Drinking is drinking. Preparing is arranging. Tasting is licking and sucking. Monks, do not generate a mind of contempt towards this monk. Why is that? Monks, this monk possesses a superior mind, dwells happily in the present dharma, and obtains the four (meditations) as he desires, obtains them without difficulty, and obtains them without inferiority. This is a section of the sutra. Superior mind means that which exists in the superior mind. What are those? They are those who dwell happily in the present dharma, that is, those who dwell happily in the present dharma. Those who dwell happily in the present dharma are the four dhyanas. Those who dwell happily in the present dharma, because they have the power to manifest as they desire, whenever they desire, and as they desire, therefore, the superior mind, possessing the four (meditations) that dwell happily in the present dharma, obtains them as he desires, obtains them without difficulty, and obtains them without inferiority, should be understood as such. The meaning of as he desires, etc., is shown by the extensive explanation of "long time," etc. As he desires, it is because they can manifest them for a long time. Whenever, it is because they can manifest them quickly. As he desires, it is because they can manifest those that are superior. Inferior means the evil realms. Therefore, non-inferior means previously superior. Others say that the absence of difficulty itself is non-inferior. Those people say that obtaining without difficulty, the synonym of this word is obtaining without inferiority. That is obtained as he desires, etc., it is considered that whoever enters into complete samadhi on those, that is obtained as he desires. Whoever enters into samadhi on those quickly, that is obtained without difficulty. Whoever enters into samadhi on those steadily, that is obtained without inferiority. Because in this credible teaching, there is a slight abandonment, therefore it is called inferior.

Therefore, whatever causes, such as sound or touch, cause the meditation to be abandoned, to be discarded, hence it is called "evil words," and the opposite is stability, which is what is being shown. 《Vibhajyavāda·Explanation of Reason》,Ninth Chapter. Monks, for example, whether it is a garland of lotus flowers, or a garland of champaka flowers, or a garland of varshika flowers, or a garland of atimuktaka flowers, worn on the shoulder, or placed in a container, those days and nights pass, moments, instants, and brief moments, those pass and will decay, will become old, will dry up. Monks, whether it is a garland of lotus flowers, or a garland of champaka flowers, or a garland of varshika flowers, or a garland of atimuktaka flowers, whatever decays, becomes old, dries up, and eventually becomes a pile of brooms, that is the time. Monks, similarly, this body, which is formed, coarse, composed of the four great elements, nourished by the semen of father and mother, nourished by food and drink, constantly anointed, washed, and massaged, will age, is of the nature of destruction, will also become old, will die. Monks, this body, which is formed, coarse, composed of the four great elements, nourished by the semen of father and mother, nourished by food and drink, constantly anointed, washed, and massaged, is of the nature of aging and destruction, those days and nights pass, moments, instants, and brief moments pass, and eventually will age, become sick, die, and reach the cemetery, that is the time, this is a fragment of the sutra. One word is the teaching, which is "will decay." Two words are the explanation, which are "will become old, will dry up," these are the two. The meaning of transformation is shown by the detailed explanation of words such as "until." For the conceptual thoughts that arise from desire, do not accept them, but abandon, eliminate, and purify them. For the conceptual thoughts that arise from hatred, and for the conceptual thoughts that arise from harm.

Not accepting arising, abandoning, dispelling, purifying, this is called a section of the Sutra Pitaka. Among them, regarding "the arising of conceptual thought of desire," the basis of desire is all desires, namely form, sound, smell, taste, and touch. To this, the mind clearly fabricates, which is the conceptual thought of desire, that conceptual thought of desire is to be abandoned. How to abandon it? In order to dispel its object's sign. The object of that conceptual thought of desire is its object. The sign refers to whatever is completely determined by consciousness, such as form, sound, and so on. The sign that relies on its object is the sign of its object, and dispelling it is not paying attention. By cultivating its antidote, one can dispel the sign of its object. Why? Because it is to dispel the sign of its object. Even if it has ceased, for the conceptual thought arising from accumulated causes, the cause is its habit, therefore it is to be dispelled. How to dispel it? Dispelling, discarding, because of cutting off the continuum by the power of individual examination. This very meaning is extensively explained in the verse "These roots are conceptual thought." What is extensively explained by "These roots are not accepting" and so on? Because it is incompatible with conceptual thought, it is not accepting. Because it completely abandons its cause, it is abandoning. Because it cuts off the continuum, it is dispelling. Because it cuts off the subsequent bondage, it is purifying. Because it clings to the fault itself, it is not accepting. How does it cling to the fault itself? The arising of my conceptual thought of desire is harmful to myself, harmful to others, and harmful to both. In this life, faults increase, and in the next life, faults increase. Faults increase in this life and the next, and the mental suffering arising from it, as well as discomfort, will also be experienced individually, this is extensively explained. Brahmin's
