Ra bya'o. This is, named Extensive Arising, is that the noble ones speak thus, named this is, it should be known that it is a specifically grasped individual, the speech of the noble ones is thus. It is for such meanings. Like this, like it is said, "For the sake of exhausting the outflows." From that, named Extensive Arising, is from that Sutra. This section of the Sutra completely shows the complete purification of the mind of a monk and the complete purification of speech, if monks are to engage in conversation, whatever is desire and hatred, etc., this is, this section of the Sutra completely shows it. How is it done? The outsider is, named "to the debater" Extensive Arising, abandoning the desire to defeat him, named abandoning the desire to defeat the outsider, is a synonym for this. The outsider himself also, named when the actions of the outsider arise. Explanation of Reasoning, Eighth Chapter. The two slanders of the unborn and the born, named the slander of the unborn and the slander of the born. From all tormenting thoughts, abandoning mental disturbance. Intolerable, what is the characteristic? To scold again and flavors, etc., are desire itself, having abandoned, will be explained below. The meaning of "etc." is, having abandoned the desire to strike and expose secrets. Not believing, what is the characteristic? Also abandoning the uncertainty of truly subduing one's own mind, is the meaning of this. Like this, arising from the teacher's concealment, also abandoning the intention to show with interruptions, and the desire to show respect from faith. Why? The inferiority of mind, the inferiority of mind and the basis of concealment, the reason is, here arising from the teacher's concealment, showing the intention with interruptions, and the desire to show respect from faith itself. Holding one's own view as supreme, named one's own view, from the views of the collection of destructibles, etc., whichever one holds as supreme itself, is holding one's own view as supreme, having eliminated that holding of one's own view as supreme. Also, one should not speak too much, named Extensive Arising is ཁ

Also, one should not speak excessively, because one does not want to speak excessively. The phrase "do not speak excessively" is to avoid making mistakes when engaging in conversation with opponents. Similarly, one should not contradict, starting from doubtful words and unclear distinctions. Starting from doubtful words is to clarify the meaning; starting from unclear distinctions is to clarify the Dharma, such as the Sutra Pitaka. Regarding contemplating the inconceivable, there are four inconceivable places. As stated in the Sutra Pitaka: "Monks, contemplating these four inconceivable places will lead to madness, complete bewilderment, and mental distraction." What are these four? They are contemplating the self, contemplating the ripening of the karma of sentient beings and the world, contemplating the meditative realm of meditators, and contemplating the magical realm of those with magical powers." For example, contemplating the self is contemplating "Did I exist in the past? Or did I not exist?" and so on. Contemplating the selflessness is contemplating "Am I separate from form and other things? Or am I not separate?" Contemplating the world is contemplating "Is the world permanent? Is the world impermanent? Is the world both permanent and impermanent?" and so on, which is inconceivable. Other inconceivable places are the meditative realm of meditators and the magical realm of those with magical powers, which should not be contemplated in any way. In order to understand what should be understood, it is to obtain what is manifest. Explaining in detail "only those" is to fully understand, correctly understand, and firmly remember in the mind, and only through those can one generate three kinds of great joy, therefore one should feel satisfied, correctly feel satisfied, and completely feel satisfied in order. For example, in order to crave the great joy of abandoning mental distraction, one should feel satisfied.

It is so. In order to generate great joy in severing doubts, one should truly satisfy it. In order to generate great joy in fully grasping the fruit, one should fully satisfy it. Fully grasping the fruit means bestowing five kinds of fruit. The five kinds of fruit are the cessation of afflictions, the meditation of arising, dwelling happily in the present dharma, accomplishing manifest qualities, and the transformation of faculties. Here it is also said: The cessation of afflictions and arising, dwelling in bliss and accomplishing manifest qualities, the transformation of faculties, etc., are the five necessities of meditation. In order to inquire well, thus inquiring well, therefore this mind is completely purified. In order to prophesy well, thus separately prophesying that this is such and such. Monks, you should abide with yourselves as islands, yourselves as refuge, the nature of dharma as islands, the nature of dharma as refuge, not other islands, not other refuge, this is a section of the sutra. In order to strive for the quiescence of the inner mind, it is called inner, not outer. Of the mind, that is, in order to strive for the quiescence of the mind, a special samadhi, that is, in order to rely on it. It is said: When does samadhi become a special samadhi? When one is completely weary of the object of focus and gathers the mind inward. Vipassana is special wisdom. Its opposing factors, called the extensive arising, that is, the opposing factors of both quiescence and vipassana, are its opposing factors. Its opposing factors, that is, in order to completely abandon attachment to sensual pleasures and striving to abide in a state of exhaustion, the opposing factor of quiescence, that is, in order to completely abandon striving for attachment to sensual pleasures, and the opposing factor of vipassana, that is, in order to completely abandon striving to abide in a state of exhaustion. Among them, sensual pleasures refer to the pleasurable desires that are afflicted, which are desires themselves. Diligent
