The faults of non-compliance are fivefold. Regarding the Dharma, because it cannot be definitively uttered, reverence does not arise from mere understanding. The remedy for this is the aspect called abiding closely in reverence for the Dharma. Regarding the taught Dharma itself, contempt arises from the incoherence of words and letters. The remedy for this is the aspect called absence of contempt for the Dharma. Thus, for the two faults of disrespect for the Dharma and contempt, two remedies are shown. Regarding the person, disrespect arises from faults in discipline, speech, and utterance, namely, from faults in discipline, and from faults in speech and utterance. The remedy for this is the aspect called abiding closely in reverence for the person who speaks the Dharma. Contempt arises from faults in lineage. The remedy for this is the aspect called absence of contempt for the person who speaks the Dharma. Self-contempt arises because one thinks that the ability to comprehend and practice will not arise, meaning that one despises oneself because one thinks that the ability to comprehend will not arise, and that the ability to practice will not arise. The remedy for this is the aspect called absence of self-contempt. The faults of grasping are also fivefold, namely, grasping incorrectly. The remedy for this is the aspect called the mind that should be fully known. Not grasping the meaning. The remedy for this is the aspect called making the mind one-pointed. Not grasping the words. The remedy for this is the aspect called listening. Grasping without encountering the signs. The remedy for this is the aspect called mind fully absorbed. Not grasping completely. The remedy for this is the aspect called listening to the Dharma after thinking with all one's mind. The remainder is not explained separately because it is easy to understand. What is the remainder? For the time being, from the thirteen faults initially shown, the fault of not seeking the meaning, and the fault of being heartbroken by taking the side of others, and the fault of not highly regarding the speaker because of not making offerings, and the fault of the intention to thoroughly refute, these are the remainder, and are not explained separately because they are easy to understand. Faults.

Among the six faults, the fault of not being liked and the fault of not being worthy of offering are not distinguished in detail because they are easy to understand. Speaking in the language of the city, with a clear voice, pleasant and melodious, very clear, understandable, worthy of listening, not dependent, without contradiction, and without exhaustion, thus teaching the Dharma, this is a section of the Sutra. Among them, it is elaborated that there are two ways: through two characteristics, the pleasantness of the voice can be recognized, that is, through the vastness of the voice, the retinue can understand; in this way, the voice enables the retinue to understand, and through the gentleness of the voice. Among them, the vastness of the voice is the first virtue of the voice, and those who conform to the pleasantness of the voice and truly gather together, are fully shown by the word "clear voice", that is, thoroughly shown. The gentleness of the voice is also the first virtue of the voice, and those who conform to the pleasantness of the voice and truly gather together, are fully shown by the word "pleasant and melodious". Through two ways, the beauty of the words can be recognized, that is, the beauty of the words with definite meaning, and the ability to make the expression understandable. The beauty of the words with definite meaning is the second virtue of the voice, and those who conform to the beauty of the words and truly gather together, are fully shown by the word "very clear". Making the expression understandable is also the second virtue of the voice, and those who conform to the beauty of the words and truly gather together, are fully shown by the word "understandable". The rest are one-to-one correspondences, and the remaining virtues, such as the beauty of meaning, etc., should be recognized through one-to-one correspondences. How is it done? Through conforming to the meaning of reason, because it is worthy of listening, the beauty of meaning should be recognized, this is the third virtue of the voice, conforming to the beauty of meaning, and fully shown by the word "worthy of listening". Acceptance of gain, etc.
