Because of having diligence in practice, and because of having equal diligence in practice. Equal diligence is neither too hasty nor too discouraged. And because of having diligence that does not know satisfaction. The so-called "those reversed" refers to reversing the black side. The so-called "such and so on" The word "and so on" means meditation, or the meaning of separate explanations, or the meaning of completely abandoning what is said, or such and so on. The so-called "do as appropriate" means not according to the number that should be understood, but as appropriate. Thus, correct display is sometimes for the sake of the difference of merit, and sometimes for the sake of the difference of merit that is completely abandoned, that is, in which sutra the path of unwholesome karma is explained. Sometimes it is for the sake of the difference of merit to be shown, that is, in which sutra the good Dharma is explained. Sometimes it is for the sake of the difference of merit of disgust, that is, in which sutra the retribution of unwholesome karma is explained. Sometimes it is for the sake of the difference of merit of faith, that is, in which sutra the merits of the Buddha are explained. For those who are completely ignorant of the meanings shown in this way, they are correctly shown for the sake of such and other differences of merit. Similarly, correctly guiding into, sometimes for the sake of the difference of merit of complete abandonment, sometimes for the sake of disgust, is widely used in this way, and applied as appropriate until correct joy. If it is said, how can only correct display and so on become the intention of the sutras? Because taming and so on are also its intention. If it is said that it is not its realm, then it is like the first display. The so-called "because one word does not have many meanings, in order to eliminate speculation about other meanings" means that because one word can also lead to many meanings, if it is said, how can the meaning of the first term be understood through clarifying the first term, through the second term, etc.? In order to eliminate speculation about other meanings, the terms are explained.

The reason for saying "to show that one possesses completely correct wisdom regarding various dharmas" is that the dharma taught by the Tathagata is immeasurable in that way. The words and letters of the dharma are also immeasurable in that way. Superior wisdom and fearlessness are also immeasurable in that way, therefore it is to show that the Bhagavan himself possesses completely correct wisdom regarding various dharmas. The reason for saying "to plant the seeds of that in others" is to plant the seeds of explaining various terms in the minds of other listeners, which is a summary statement. If someone asks: Why don't many necessities arise from the sutras? This is because the meanings of taming, etc., are different, so would it become seven necessities? Here it says: It does not arise. Why? Because the result of taming, etc., is to make one believe. That is to say, the result of taming, guiding, and establishing is to make one believe, and making one believe is only to make one accept correctly. In terms of nomenclature, it is to elaborate in detail. So, in terms of nomenclature, making one believe is like this: for example, "the kinds to be combined" are explained in detail, making one believe not through the words themselves, but through "the kinds to be combined" are explained in detail. Similarly, in terms of nomenclature, preventing desire, for example, "Ananda, the monk likes noise" is explained in detail. Preventing desire is also not through the words themselves, but through "Ananda, likes noise" is explained in detail. Are these the fifth or sixth necessities other than the four necessities? Or are they included in any of the correct teachings, etc.? Here it says: These are also included, that is, believing and preventing desire are also included. Taming is the nature of recklessness, meaning that taming is the kind of recklessness. Making one accept correctly through control means that the kinds to be combined, like this, explaining, that is, believing.
