What are the five powers? They are the power of faith, the power of diligence, the power of mindfulness, the power of concentration, and the power of wisdom. It is said that faith and so on are like skin and so on, because the lower ones become the inner ones, just as the lower ones of skin and so on are the inner ones, just as flesh is more inner than skin, and bone is more inner than bone up to the leg, so faith and so on are also more inner because the lower ones are inner. Diligence is more inner than the first, and concentration is more inner up to wisdom. In this way, because the lower ones are in harmony with the Dharma, the five powers such as faith are explained by gain and respect like skin and so on. Because it is the most important, it is considered that the five powers such as faith are the most important in the lower ones like skin and so on. It is also said in the scriptures that mere faith is like skin, because it is thin, and it is considered that it is explained by gain and respect. Similarly, diligence is like flesh, and so on should be added. Diligence is painful because it is constantly striving. Wisdom is like a leg, because it dwells in the mind of equanimity, just as the leg dwells on the bone, so wisdom also dwells in the mind of equanimity. How appropriate is a synonym for how suitable. From this and that means from the Sutra Pitaka. Because of laziness, lack of desire, and distraction, it is said that it is because of laziness, because of lack of desire, and because of distraction. Those who are universally shrinking, which widely appears, are those who are universally shrinking because they have a fondness for inferiority, because they think they are incapable, and they combine words by thinking that they have no ability. Because of regret, because of fear of many things. Those who have entered correctly, which widely appears, are those who have entered correctly because they are not inverted.
