This is the phrase that possesses both the place and the footprints. How to depart is extensively explained. How does the Teacher depart in a perfect manner? That is how he departs. It is associated with where he departs without turning back, and to what extent he departs. For the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, there is a place to go, and there is also something to be attained. For the Shravakas, there is the attainment of the Pratyekabuddha state, and for the Pratyekabuddhas, there is also the attainment of Buddhahood. Once one becomes a Buddha, there is nothing to be attained or realized. Therefore, it is departing to the extent that needs to be departed. Alternatively, departing to the extent that needs to be departed is synonymous with what needs to be comprehended and attained. The Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas have not reached the extent to which they need to go, nor have they reached the extent to which they need to realize and attain. Therefore, it is called Sugata (Well-Gone). "Outsiders" is extensively explained. To distinguish from those who are free from the desires of outsiders, it is called Sugata, because they are subject to turning back. To distinguish from the Arhats who are different from those who are free from the desires of outsiders, it is called Sugata, because even if they do not turn back, they have not attained the excellent qualities of the Buddha, nor have they reached the extent to which they need to go. Subduing, subduing is also the second activity of the Teacher. Therefore, it is called the unsurpassed tamer of beings. "Unsurpassed" is also extensively explained as the tamer of beings. Even those who are difficult to tame, such as the water god Guanghu, due to the prevalence of attachment, hatred, and ignorance, are tamed in order, so it is unsurpassed. Furthermore, even if one can tame those who are non-permanent, difficult to tame within a limited time, and difficult to tame due to faults, the Buddha Bhagavan is widely referred to as skillful means. So, what is meant by "that"? It is like this, the Bhagavan that is. Extensively speaking, it is nine words.

If someone asks, what is it like as the wise ones have said? The Blessed One, the Thus-gone One, the Foe Destroyer, the Perfectly Awakened One, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Well-gone One, the Knower of the World, the unsurpassed Charioteer of beings to be tamed, the Teacher of gods and humans, these are the names. From the point of view of definitive meaning, because of understanding all that is to be known, therefore is the Buddha. Because of completely destroying all attacks of demons and outsiders, therefore is the Blessed One. Someone asks: If the meaning of all the words is explained, then what is the meaning of "like this also"? It is like recollecting the form of the Thus-gone One. How to recollect? Just as it is extensively said, "like this also, after doing like this" is its synonym. It says in the second section of the Sutra Pitaka: At that time, I was liberated from the world together with the gods, the world together with the demons, the world together with Brahma, the beings together with the ascetics and Brahmins, the assembly together with gods and humans, determined to renounce, separated, completely liberated, abiding many times with an undistorted mind. At that time, I knew that I had attained the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. That is what it says. It also shows the difference of being liberated from the obscurations of knowledge. The "from that" in it refers to from the world together with the gods. It is shown by "liberation" etc., meaning that liberation itself is the determination to renounce, separate, and completely liberate. The "different from that" in it refers to, apart from the demons and Brahma with the gods as the main ones, and the ascetics and Brahmins with humans as the main ones, the beings together with gods and humans, those who are not the leaders of gods and humans. Because of following the habitual tendencies, it means to say that this is the synonym of not having uprooted the seeds of afflictions. The definitive meaning of complete liberation is, being liberated from no longer returning and separating, therefore it is called complete liberation. It is said in the sutra, because they do not agree with these dharmas. What is extensively said is, the desire of the outsiders and the non-degeneration of
