Having the seed of karma that will be thrown, and because the karma has not been shown in detail, there is a similar seed of karma that will cause the body of craftsmanship to be born in the future. The noble Arhat has not abandoned these seeds. Even if they exist, the aggregates will not be born in the future, and the afflictions will not be born. If there is no antidote to the afflictions, they will not be born, and it cannot be established, because an antidote is needed. Therefore, although the seed of the aggregates exists, the antidote to the afflictions causes the aggregates not to be born, which is the separate analysis cessation. Therefore, the realm of Nirvana with the remainder of the aggregates and the realm of Nirvana without the remainder of the aggregates are said to be separate analysis cessation. Why is this? Because these two Nirvanas can only be obtained by eliminating afflictions with wisdom, so they are established as separate analysis cessation. The so-called antidote to afflictions does not refer to the unpolluted noble path in this case, unlike the noble path of the antidote to afflictions that eliminates afflictions and causes the aggregates not to be born. Rather, because there is no antidote to afflictions, the future Dharma does not have the cause and conditions, so the aggregates will not increase, and they will never be born. This is not separate analysis, so it is called cessation. Among them, the word "extremely" is mentioned to distinguish between the cessation of unconscious absorption and the cessation of unconsciousness. Why is this? Because at those times, the Dharma is only prevented from arising for a certain period of time, but it is not prevented from arising extremely. At the time of unconscious absorption and unconsciousness, the mind and mental factors cease, and after arising from them, the mind and mental factors will arise again. The so-called not giving rise to future Dharma is to distinguish it from the cessation of impermanence. Why is this? Because the cessation of impermanence is to eliminate the Dharma that has already arisen in the present time, but it does not prevent the future Dharma from arising and eliminating it. For example, in reality, for a single form, when the eye consciousness is attached and distracted, for the white and red colors of the form

Blue and yellow, etc., and phenomena such as sound, smell, taste, and touch, arise at the same time. Because eye consciousness clings to the appearance of blue, it becomes distracted. The appearances of white and red, etc., are momentary, so they cease and pass into the past. The five consciousnesses that focus on this do not arise because there is no cause. They remain in the future and will never arise. This is called cessation through non-discrimination. Why? Because the immediate cause of that moment is the immediate cause of the consciousness that clings to one appearance, but not the immediate cause of other consciousnesses, so there is no immediate cause. Also, their five objects have passed into the past, so there is no object as a cause. Because they do not possess the two causes, the consciousnesses do not arise and remain in the future. After non-discrimination, discrimination is mentioned. Therefore, in order to understand the nature of cessation through discrimination, the question is asked: What is cessation through discrimination? The meaning of the question is: What is the nature of cessation through discrimination? Here, discrimination means examination, differentiation, and wisdom; these words have the same meaning. The particularity of wisdom that belongs to the immediate path is called examination. Regarding suffering, origin, cessation, and path—the Four Noble Truths—wisdom distinguishes impermanence, suffering, etc., and it is attained by abandoning afflictions. By abandoning afflictions, the aggregates do not arise and cease; this is called cessation through discrimination. As an answer to this, it is said, "Whatever ceases is separation." Cessation through discrimination is the cessation where the aggregates do not arise, so it is called cessation. Moreover, this is the characteristic of affliction, so it is called separation. Here, if only the word "cessation" is mentioned and not the word "separation," then cessation through non-discrimination, as well as the cessation of the meditative absorption of non-perception, as well as non-perception, and the cessation of impermanence, would also become faults to be avoided. Therefore, it is said, "That is separation."
