It is the antidote to wrong views. Among them, the characteristic of extreme pliancy of the body is that the body and mind are capable. The capability of the body means that it can quickly accomplish what should be done in the aspect of virtuous deeds, and the body is comfortable in shape and color, and there is no heaviness. The capability of the mind means that when practicing yoga, the mind is not unclear, and the mind can enter the object of focus without hindrance. It is said: The pliancy of the body is the difference of touch. The difference of touch is either the nature of the four great elements, or the nature of form that is the cause. Here, when explaining the extreme pliancy arising from the mind, how can the difference of touch of the body be called extreme pliancy? It is said: The touch of the body, that is, the pliancy of the body, even if it is not the pliancy of the mind, but because the pliancy of the body is the cause of the pliancy of the mind, therefore, the name of extreme pliancy of the mind is established on the body of the cause, so it is said that the body is extremely pliant. Its karma is also to obtain the change of state by relying on it, and to completely abandon the obstacles of afflictions. If there is extreme pliancy, one can change from the previous state of body and mind being incapable to later obtaining the characteristic of body and mind being capable, and from the change of state of body and mind being capable, by the power of capability, one can completely abandon the obstacles of afflictions. In order to show the nature of mindfulness, it is asked, what is mindfulness? This is the meaning of asking what is the nature and characteristic of mindfulness. The answer is: It is the antidote to non-vigilance. Here also, if non-vigilance is shown first, it will be easier to understand vigilance, so non-vigilance is shown. Relying on desire, hatred, ignorance, and laziness, guarding the mind from entering afflictions such as desire, and not cultivating virtuous dharmas such as faith that are its antidotes, this is called non-vigilance. Guarding the mind from entering afflictions, and cultivating virtuous dharmas such as faith that are its antidotes, this is called vigilance. Because the arising of vigilance will not turn into non-vigilance, it is said that vigilance is the antidote to non-vigilance. And the basis of vigilance.
